Pure Mode...advise
 

I'm running Rocmod 2.1C servers no PB. I'm having to deal with Usual Suspects. I'm wondering if going Pure mode would cut down on the aimbotters coming in? If the client has to match my server files to connect....

Anyone have Experince with PURE Mode that can tell me more?

pure server will "probably" cut down on traffic thru you server.
i have played on 2 pure servers no pb recently (no names)
and found the moment i went to punkbuster servers i was kicked for
an invalid pk3........so i no longer play on non pb/pure servers and just run a standard game.

The best way to have a cool server is:
PB ON
PURE OFF

The PunkBuster will catch a lot of cheaters, and pure server will just catch "shader" cheaters and others that make hacks using game content, and those cheaters are very rare...

Also Pure Server makes you unable to see your skins so that's bad...

Not true marine, there are PK3 hacks that give the semblance of wall hacks.

If you are not putting tons of files on your server, you should be fine so long as people don't mind the downloads.

Or just make sure your admins take the pbss like they are supposed to and demo sketchy play. While PB and PURE are great tools, admins are your first and greatest line of defense.

Don't put tons of files on and you can run pure without a terrible loss of traffic.
