The first thing i'd like to ask is wat makes a nOOb gun a nOOb gun????
And secondly i dont think the usas and m203 are nOOb guns....
The usas aint cos yeh sure its pretty much ultimate at close comat, (does this make the msg90a1 a nOOb gun cos its good at long range?), but it bloody useless at anything further than a few metres. So a nOOb would be completly usless with it, but any reletivly decent player would know not to use it at range.
The m203 sure aint a nOOb weapon cos if a nOOb were using it then he/she would be blowing themselves up, not you... altho wen people panic button that is pretty lame.

Reason: cant type to save my life :P
do you want to know what n00b guns are? they are any gun that kills a crybaby. same way with hacking. people suck so much that they have to complain about everything. "oh he killed me with a gun, hes a hacker." or "he killed me with a perfectly aimed m203 gernade! lets ban him because of that and say dont use noob guns." you cant do anything about it. unless you killed every single moron and crybaby in the world. in every game and in every place, you will find people like that. that is why i have lost hope in all of mankind. *sigh* thats just what i have to say.

If there is such a thing as a noob gun then the mm1 gets my vote. This has to be the least well balanced of all the weapons in sof2. Don't get me wrong, I think that when a person spawns then they should grab the nearest weapon and defend themselves. If that happens to be the mm1 then so be it. What hacks me off is the players who covet this weapon to such an extent that they will cross a map specifically to get it and then stay nearby and vapourize anyone who happens to pass by. We've all seen the people who stand on the roof of raven offices over the bench with the mm1 on it and come down only to reload and then climb back up. We've all been victims of these spoilers. My personal rule of thumb is to only use "captured" ones. That way, I don't think that the opposing team have any grounds for complaint. Perhaps more servers should modify them to use timed nades or smoke. Doing away with the mm1 completely seems to be a waste of a weapon to me. (btw, I believe there is a mod that makes the mm1 explode the moment it is fired!....Amusing, no doubt but I don't really think this is the way to remedy the issue.)
Anyway, in answer to your question of wether or not the m203 is "noob"....I don't think so either. (Although I prefer to see timed nades.) It has disadvantages such as the reload time which also stops you from firing the m4. (I've lost track of how many times it has got me killed!)
The USAS......hmmm. I think this becomes slightly "noob" when over-used. A bit like the mm1 only less so. Personally, I don't have any problem with it but I can understand people getting annoyed after being killed several times in a row with it by the same person.

yeh the mm1 (and the m203 grenades) should have time delays, like in other games the m203 are delayed and u can bounce em around corners too. the mm1 really needs that cos its really overpowered in sof2.
Yeh having timed m203 grenades would make them slightly fairer and more realistic (actualy being timed in real life) but then they would lose appeal to me ,and im sure many others players, because if i use it it is because it is impact detonation otherwise i would just use a nade.....
I also dont mind the mm1, exept when players merely rush you and end up blowing themselves up just to get the kill, that is trule lame!

Guns of any type i can live with, however its these real damage servers that get me, well to be exact any weapon modded servers. I dont agree with the distance a shot gun shoots and kills you. I have had ppl kill me the full distance of the bridge in Jor1 thats stairs to stairs.. There is no way a shotgun would reach that far.
My Personal views or opinions do not reflect that of Ziff Davis Media or FileFront
Realy? i quite like the real damage servers... although i know wat you mean wen you say about the long range shottie kills... that can be irratating, not bein a shottie user and all.... UZI POWER!

Hehe, I have had some very long range kills with the pistol! I can remember spawning in that little alcove by the swimming pool in finca on numerous occasions and (resisting the urge to panic and run) took my time and aimed at somebody's head up by the tree right at the far end and killed them! (serves them right for shooting at spawns, hehe).
I think that the real damage mods take realism a bit too far. They don't give enough time for decent gameplay between spawns.
Sponge Bob, just as a point of interest m203 nades are not actually timed in real life. Instead they are spun when they leave the weapon by flip-out fins. The centrifugal force of the spinning allows a mechanism inside to arm them and thus they detonate on impact. I takes about a quarter of a second or so (maybe less) before one is armed.
