Its all to do with sponsers, we have sites paying us to advertise, so why should another site get it for free? I enforce the rules as they stand. Posting links that follow the topic are allowed at the descretion of the admin, links that generate hits for other sites are not allowed. The original thread starter asked what was classed as a noob weapon, not how to make one, follow so far? I will ask one of the Admin to explain the rules in more detail if you wish?

Ok, thats cool
But I still think THAT site was not advertising, but be that as it may.
carry on :)
Wow, so I can't post to any other sites here for informational things? that stinks. I enjoy helping other people when they need say, vid cards ect and I try to find them a good deal.

Is this the rules for just the sof2 forum, or gamingforums.com in general?
Because on other boards this is done on a daily basis with no moderator intervention.
Just seems way to strict here (sof2) to help people, or have fun
-good day and good luck with your sponsers

Re: nOOb weapons

Ok, I did enthuse about another site. But let's get this into perspective here. The site in question is a perfectly respectable site. It does not instruct people "how to make" m203 grenades. Nor is it pornographic in any way.
The original thread starter did not in fact ask "What was classed as a noob weapon?" He asked "What makes a noob gun a noob gun?" Since m203 grenades are counted by many people on the forum as "noob" it seems perfectly reasonable to me when a person makes a misinformed statement about them (no offence to him) to point him to a source of information as to their construction / mechanism. Furthermore I believe that this actually puts my post on topic.

I'm in agreement with Beef Flaps. Surely the forums should not be policed so stringently as to suppress useful or interesting information or, for that matter, conversation. After all, isn't that what they are for? :uhm:

Btw, don't you think that a "forum magistrate" should conduct himself with more maturity and respect. That post was downright offensive.

I just want to touch on that quote:
Please explain what you mean by that.
Am I to understand we can't link to any other site, unless it is part of your sponsors? No offennse, but that sounds crazy.
Now, if an Admin or Mod linked to a site trying to sell a product, then I could see the harm to the sponsors.
If I was to post a link to a good deal on a video card for someone, how is that advertising on my part?
I would like an admin to explain this rule in detail, maybe it will help more than me here.
I have been posting help links for 2 years now, and this is the first I am hearing of this "no link" rule.
And please answer my question about the rules applying to just the SOF2 forums, or gamingforums.com in general.
Does each forum get to make their own rules?

I have seen people sign up just to advertise a server renting business.
Now that is advertising.
BUT, if someone askes a question about "where is a good place to rent a server"
And I answer them with a link to a good place, and it is NOT on your sponser list, do I get my thread deleted? Sounds way off to me.

Again ,I respect you, Paul but i think you are reading into these rules a little too deep.
