Just remember the rules

What is wrong with him posting that site about how stuff works describing how a nade works? I found it very interesting.
I've read the rules, but are you saying we can't link informational sites here, in a rant n rave forum? Kind of confused on that.
And BTW, this whole thread really has no relavence ;)
A prize for anyone that can count how many times the word noob is used on this thread

If you were not relating to that site, nevermind me.

First off, I respect you as a mod.
No offence but not allowing someone to post a site like that makes zero sense, and I doubt that the rules intended such.
So you are telling me I can't inform someone about news on www.cnn.com because that would be posting other sites?

WAY to many grey areas in that "FAQ"

Now he was not advertising a thing, was he? was he to profit off of that linked site?
To me, that rule means someone cannot post a link to a site that advertises something that would profit them. Being this is a free site and that would be free advertising .
Am I way off here? please explain.

Chapz, I don't want to be the source of any discord between the admin and forum users here. I accept that my post put me in breach of forum rules and I apologise to the admin for putting the address up in the first place. I put it up because I felt that it was on topic (noob nades etc.) and it would be interesting and educational to see how they work. I thought it would develop the conversation a bit and make a change from some of the other "noob" threads which seem to be a bit "circular" and repetative. :uhoh:

Like I said, I,ll remember not to do it in future. Cheers.

Thats why I am defending this.
I've been here for a while, I know SiR Paul is cool guy, but I just thinnk this rule is very grey. I mean come on, that site was not advertising and was very informational.
Not getting into any discords, just trying to understand this particualr rule.
I don't want to post an informatinal site and have it deleted.
Any mods care to explain further?
I guess this is MY rant ;)

Krankymonkee, -"Point about the MM1 also though - I dont think its overpowered cause it is less powerfull as the RPG - as it should be itys about 2/3 the power as the rpg."

....Ah, but the MM1 carries 7 times more ammo than the RPG! Also, it can be reloaded much more readily.

Sir Paul,- "Guns of any type I can live with"....now that is alarming! :naughty:
I'm not sure I'd like to put your shotgun theory to the test in real-life!:)

Advertising and Pornography

Advertising of other sites/services or posting links to Pornography is strictly forbidden. The Gaming Forums staff is instructed to remove any breaches they come across and to report them to their seniors. Members advertising or posting porn links will be banned from the forums.
__________________________________________________ _______

Its all to do with sponsers, we have sites paying us to advertise, so why should another site get it for free? I enforce the rules as they stand. Posting links that follow the topic are allowed at the descretion of the admin, links that generate hits for other sites are not allowed. The original thread starter asked what was classed as a noob weapon, not how to make one, follow so far? I will ask one of the Admin to explain the rules in more detail if you wish?
