Punkbuster Kick/MD5Tool mismatch Hello, as a regular player of SoF2 , I have experienced the recent need to update my Punkbuster. On may servers I can play without a problem. On certain servers however I get kicked with the message " MD5Tool Mismatch Base/MP. pk3 (Len = 2048)" I have tried to resolve this on my own but when I go to PunkBuster Online Countermeasures, MD5Tool is referenced for server side only. I can't find anything that says what to do if the problem is happening for the "Player". Can anyone point me in the right direction? Respectfully. |
Re: Punkbuster Kick/MD5Tool mismatch There was a recent set of PB issues that firstly effected clients and a second one that effected servers. The client one was fixed with a update a week ago and then a new fix came out for the servers. With out the server updating PB there is not a lot you can do to fix this atm. If the server has a website listed or email just give them a shout to update PB. |
Re: Punkbuster Kick/MD5Tool mismatch MD5 checks are serverside, The kick you've received is for a mismatch of a stock file basically your mp.pk3 doesn't match the servers checks. Kicks for stock files are usually because the file is corrupt or missing some data caused by a bad install, damaged discs etc. 99% of the time reinstalling will fix this problem. |
Re: Punkbuster Kick/MD5Tool mismatch Thanks for the suggestions guys. As it turned out I could never stay on the particular server long enough for anyone to answer me back about the name of the clan website. I tried a couple variations on my own but couldn't find it. I ended up follwing Ace's advice and doing a complete re-install. Of course I saved all the entries in my Base and Multiplayer folders first as well as all the gametype folders such as Rocmod etc. I'd hate to have to replace all that material at one sitting. What I did was to delete my old Multiplayer pk3 and also my mp cfg file as a new one would be created at the first initialization of a new game. I applied this to all gametype folders as well. After I completed the re-install and put all my folders back in place, I updated my PunkBuster again. As advertised, I had no further problems getting on and staying on any server I wished. Thanks guys and Thank You for all your efforts on behalf of all us players. Much appreciated. |
