Download Redirection I know this exists can someone verify this for me because my Cpanel creator would like to see documentation on this to show it actually exists //Do Not Touch the next lines... //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// set sv_allowDownload "1" /////////$ set sv_wwwDownload "1" ///////////// set sv_wwwBaseURL"http://www.nsdq-clan.com/downloads/" ///////////// /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// What this does instead of making them download off your server it downloads directly off the website you just gotta put the files intact in which mod folder they go in. Just seems Cortex and Inguana do not support it.If you are using FTP you can use these commands if your using the CP then you cannot because they dont allow it Also SOF2 is not the only game that supports this for another example see a COD:UO server 67.19.129.120:28960 or visit www.cufleague.com and ask them |
Re: Download Redirection Hmm, I thought this wasn't possible with SoF2... With CoD:UO it was, you're right there... but for SoF2... Hmm, I don't know... |
Re: Download Redirection This option is NOT available for SoF2 |
Re: Download Redirection i've seen a screenshot of it working in an unreleased version of osp i think :D |
Re: Download Redirection It does work for all quake engine games. Although the ones that don't truly support it properly (such as sof2) don't get any big increases from doing this. open your server.cfg and add the following lines: set sv_allowDownload "1" - This is telling to server to allow dl's set sv_wwwDownload "1" - This is telling the server to take you to an url set sv_wwwBaseURL"http://yoursite.com/downloads" This is where the rocmod folder is located on the server. Do not have the last line listed as: set sv_wwwBaseURL"http://yoursite.com/downloads/rocmod" as it will find the folders you have the downloads in as long as they exist inside the primary folder you list for redirects. I've found in sof2 that the combinations for best download rates are based on the client and server having a very high maxrate setting. If the client's maxrate isn't set the same as the servers (and there isn't a valid way to tell this until your on the server normally) then the downloads aren't any faster then normal. |
Re: Download Redirection I know this works because when my server was running on FTP and the bass download was in place to my site I was getting 14-20 kbps and it was downloading off the site then I moved it over to Cortex Control Panel and it wont work but it was working before |
Re: Download Redirection cpgaming is also a host ..and one of the most knowledgable around. yes it does work but you can set you server to give people 15-20 already. If this worked the way it is supposed to, your download speed would be much higher. |
Re: Download Redirection well im not sure about my Game panel its Cortex and they dont allow anything in there server.cfg unless it is approved by sof2 and this config is very useful when your only getting 4-6kbps off the server |
