sof2, linux and pb help!
 

I'm a linux user and use Cedega (WineX) to run sof2 on my Linux PC. I got sof2 working fine,but PunkBuster now kicks me after about 30 seconds with this error:

Server Disconnect:You have been kicked via PunkBuster (for 0 minutes)...RESTRICTION:Corrupted Module Header:Kernel32.dll

I think that pb checks kernel32.dll (installed from Cedega) and sees it's not the same as the windows version of kernel32.dll and kicks me thinking it's a hack.....

I've searched for days, e-mailed pb support, and Cedega support with no replies from any of them! Anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated!

hmm ...are you and your server on the same guid/cdkey ?
could also be the pb kick is coming from teh cdkey verification.
/pb_CDKeyver could stop this ...not sure though..type it into your console before joining the server.
and be sure pb is up to date.

That didnt work. I just got an e-mail back from evenbalance saying pb doesn't support windows emulation yet...... Emulating sof2 on linux woulnt work at this time on pb enabled servers.

guess I'm pretty much screwed on that 1 huh??? :mad:

well i am wondering ....are you using straight linux ?
cause my clan's provider uses linux based boxes ofr the game ..and we use punkbuster.
so maybe i am way outta my league there...lol
don't mess with linux enough i guess ....

I have Dual boot.... Windows XP Pro and (Red Hat) Fedora Core 2.

would my windows version cd-key work on the linux version of sof2? Maybe they could burn me a copy of the linux version and mail it. lol

Is there a way i can get in touch with them if they'd help?

well i don't see why the cdkey wouldn't work unless they do something radically different.
but it is just funny how proffesional places that host servers , use teh linux version and have pb running.
