Screenshot Troubles 1 Attachment(s) While I'm in a multiplayer server fragging up a little, my gamma is perfect. I get an awesome, bloody kill and decide to take a screenshot of it. I press "P" because I bound that to screenshot, and it takes a picture. After getting bored, I decide to get off, and look at my screenshots. To my disbelief, the screenshot is abnormally dark. It looks nothing like what I actually see when I play. When I play, my screen is crisp, clear, and bright. But my screenshots are dark, merky, and unseeable. Any ideas on whats causing this? Below I attached a before and after image of my screenshots, I'm sure you can tell which was before the problem, and which was after... One thing I just noticed was all my good looking screenshots are all 200-300kb and all my crappy ones are 125-200kb..any ideas? |

These screenshots have perfect gamma. |
How do you get those screenshots so clear?? |
Well, as an update, even though it seems no ones reading this anyways, lol, I looked into my sof2mp.cfg and noticed some script that disables some sort of gamma (brightness) of your monitor / or the game, I think of the game. So I put that on (default is off) and noticed that the gamma could not be changed, but the gamma that I saw was exactly the same as the gamma in all my screenshots. Coincidence? Anyways, Zephyr, I've got a Verto Geforce 4 4200, with all my graphics in the game on max. So my fps greatly decreases, but my graphics are as good as they can be. So maybe try that, but you don't need them all on max to get a good quality. |
Hmmmm Ya that happens to me too. I need help Too! |
1 Attachment(s) Hey get_oout, I haven't found any help so far, but I did find a way to make it look perfect even if it does screenshot really dark. Open your screenshot in some image editor and see if theres any type of filter or anything like "Auto Color", "Auto Brightness", "Auto Levels", or anything. I do all those to all my images lately and they all look perfect. I'm sure any program you have (except paint) will have some options to change the image. Here's one of my screenshots I took last night, after I made it not dark anymore. |

Is this last pic one of yours? I mean did you take it? |
yeah i took it before my gamma started messing up |
hey how are u taking the screen shots?i know on mine i hit and hold the alt key+print screen key(located above the insert key on your key board :) ).then i just go to paint (or any photo editing software for that matter)and go to edit at the top and select paste.then there it is exactly as it was in the game!it looks great and u can save it as whetever type u want and wherever u want.and if it still turns out bad then u are in the program to fix it.but i nor anyone i know using this method has a problem.and they didnt mess with any gamma settings. just a thought and i hoped this helped! lol Hoss |
naw man, dont do printscreen. most new games have screenshots. just bring down your console, and type this bind. heres mine, i press "p" to take screenshots. just type this in your console: bind p "screenshot" So then whenever you press p, it takes a screenshot. now to view them, open my computer, and go to your sof2/base/mp folder. there should be a new folder named screenshots, your images are saved there. hope it works; enjoy! |
hey brother good looking out on the suggestion :) but i was saying the print screen thing is something to try since u are having problems with the "built in"screen shot command.i do appreciate the suggestion though.i was just trying to give ya more options just in case u didnt know that option was open :) any way good looking out man it is nice to see that even when u are having problems that u still give a crap about others.thats cool :) later and rock on brother  hoss |
ohh, ok, thanks. I have tried to do printscreen to see if it's the same as my screenshots. And they are as dark as the screenshots. So maybe it's just my video card. What might have happened is my gamma problems started when I downloaded the new driver. But who knows. Thanks for the help though bud. |
