Screenshot Troubles

While I'm in a multiplayer server fragging up a little, my gamma is perfect. I get an awesome, bloody kill and decide to take a screenshot of it. I press "P" because I bound that to screenshot, and it takes a picture. After getting bored, I decide to get off, and look at my screenshots. To my disbelief, the screenshot is abnormally dark. It looks nothing like what I actually see when I play. When I play, my screen is crisp, clear, and bright. But my screenshots are dark, merky, and unseeable. Any ideas on whats causing this? Below I attached a before and after image of my screenshots, I'm sure you can tell which was before the problem, and which was after...

One thing I just noticed was all my good looking screenshots are all 200-300kb and all my crappy ones are 125-200kb..any ideas?

These screenshots have perfect gamma.

How do you get those screenshots so clear??

Well, as an update, even though it seems no ones reading this anyways, lol, I looked into my sof2mp.cfg and noticed some script that disables some sort of gamma (brightness) of your monitor / or the game, I think of the game. So I put that on (default is off) and noticed that the gamma could not be changed, but the gamma that I saw was exactly the same as the gamma in all my screenshots. Coincidence?

Anyways, Zephyr, I've got a Verto Geforce 4 4200, with all my graphics in the game on max. So my fps greatly decreases, but my graphics are as good as they can be. So maybe try that, but you don't need them all on max to get a good quality.

Hey get_oout, I haven't found any help so far, but I did find a way to make it look perfect even if it does screenshot really dark. Open your screenshot in some image editor and see if theres any type of filter or anything like "Auto Color", "Auto Brightness", "Auto Levels", or anything. I do all those to all my images lately and they all look perfect. I'm sure any program you have (except paint) will have some options to change the image. Here's one of my screenshots I took last night, after I made it not dark anymore.
