Any1 know how to boost download speed?

yeah when i join a server it starts downloading small things (like 600kb etc) yet the best speed i can get is 5kb/s. i set my rate to cable (because i have cable ) and the best i can get is 5kb/s.
ive downloaded some maps from websites, and they work at normal cable speed so why doesnt this? also, i dont think its because of the server, becasue on all the servers ive joined 5kb/s is the MAX ive ever got

that pretty much normal, in fact better then normal, most are at 1-2
fastest way is to get the file yourself.

As Wolfie pointed out, this is normal. And there is no way to change the download speed of a map *or any file* from a server. Finding the file on the net and then restart the game is much faster if the required file on the server is more than 600Kb.
