Changing color of flag in HUD
 

I want to change the blue flag in the hud, into a black one...
Same for the flag, below on the screen, and the annoucments...

I think they can only be changed client side... so it would be only you that can do it.

Open your mp.pk3 from your base folder

Extract flag_blue_small.png and flag_red_small.png and then edit in photoshop or whatever and repackage them into a seperate .pk3 file and drop it in your base/mp folder.

For some reason it's not working :(
I took the flags from here :mp.pk3 gfx/menus/hud/flag_blue_small.png
After editing it on PS i repacked it to blackredflags.pk3 and put it in the base/mp folder.
But blue flag end teamicon are still blue and not black like i colored it.

Any idea?

Rename it to zblackredflags.pk3 and it'll work.

For some reason it doesn't...
I've tried zblackredflas.pk3 and z_blackredflags.pk and not working
I've put it in the base/mp folder, in base and in rocmod and still not working.

Here's the .pk3 files, my i did something wrong with it.

You can't make a pk3 from a .rar file.
Make a zip (right-click, new, compressed (zipped) folder) and start over.

OK, found those flags in update101.pk3 :)

Some flag skins and hud colours are mod dependant. So it might not alter it in every mod used in sof2.
But so long as it works for what you use and you are happy with it then all is good.

All the flags are black now :)
Just wondering one thing....
Can i change the color of the text, when capping a flag, 'cos it's also in blue..

Yes you can...

Try g_customRedCode w

and

g_customBlueCode w

If that doesnt do it then you could edit your servers sof2mp_game.qvm file from within you mod...
I did this on one of my servers a while ago, changed alot of text and colours ect...

You will need a hex editor to open .qvm files though... google for xvi32

When u connect, u have to choose between red & blue team...
Is it possible to change that too, to black team & red team ?

About the flag, is it 'cos i made the flag from .png to jpg ?
Can i keep my flag in .png?
But should all the flags then be in .png format?

( I must be a real pain in the ass here :) )

for a sharp looking picture, just make it twice as big. and if you have the right mod, you should be able to change the names of the teams and the colors too, so you have black instead of blue.

Teamnames and colors are already changed....
What i want is when u choose in menu which team, u have 2 options red or blue team. I want black in stead of blue.

some mods let you change the team names too. I play roc mod and I change the team names to other than blue and red.

Yes, i know that u can change the names of the teams. (play rocmad2.1c)
But, what I want is in the menus, changing the name of the blue team to black team.
