Default Selecting a single brush

i was watching Room 101 and got everything until he said the best way to select a single brush is from the 3d menu or something like that...

i need help with this part...what button do you press to select a brush from the 3d menu? i deselect everything first, and then i tried mouse click 1,2, and 3 but none works, so i press some more buttons but still havent find it
any help would be nice, thanks in advance

Hold down your Shift key then click on the brush you want with your left mouse in the 3d window.
