Re: Sims 1 help plz This has nothing to do with service pack 2. I have expereanced the same problem prior to sp2's release. The problem is caused by windows not un-installing all of the program when you uninstalled it. Meaning XP did not delete the file in your installed programs list. This list of installed programs can be found at C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\ This is a hidden folder, to unhide go tools, folder options, view tab, click show all. Apply. You will need to search thru the list of long product serial numbers. I opened the "setup" on each one. As the setup starts it shows what program it is linked to. If it does not state if for the Sims or the latest expanision pack, click cancel. Repeat until you find the correct one. Just delete on the whole folder. If that does not work, or would like to try the back door way first. Put in the CD, click cancel. Got to windows explorer, and look thru the CD to find something called installer or setup. |
Re: Sims 1 help plz I tried to do that, but when I put show all, apply and nothing happensit's like my computer has not that carpet called C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\...what else can i try??(sorry if i don't write well but i am from argentina.. |
Re: Sims 1 help plz First, I have to say happy birthday. Second, to me it doesn't matter where you are from, we are all here to help each other. Another thing to try... Put CD in rom. Cancel the auto-run. Open windows explorer. Do to your disk drive. Search the disk for an install. 1. Best case, it loads everything. 2. If may only load half of it. When half of it is loaded, do a search on "Sims" right down every loacation it is found in. un-install it and remove alll files.. Then try to reinstall 3. None of it. Worst case, format hard drive, |
