Everyday your sims should bring home homework, it looks like a colored book. They will place it somewhere around the house

if there is a desk in the house the kids will put the homework near the desk. have an adult click on the homework and then choose which kid to help. do this atleast once with each child until they get an icon in their memories that they've learned to do homework. Now they can do their homework much faster, and also help younger siblings with their homework.
