icon_question Sudden Regular BSOD after many hours of no problems

I am playing Stalker SHOC with the Awesome Oblivion Lost 2009 RC1 mod pack.

And I've so far played several hours at a time over many play sessions, and i'm currently in the army warehouse area just about to take on the Brain Scorcher and open up the path to the Zone.

Even though i'm playing with quite a lot of mods working together in this OL RC1 pack i've not really been hit with many crashes or glitches atall, other than one or two very minor invalid ogg comments (that i've fixed as they've come up) and some AI errors when saving during blowouts.

But suddenly during my last play session the game paused the screen became distorted by horizontal lines of breakup and my system Blue Screen errored telling me it has had a 'Page fault in a none paged area'

So i assumed something in the local area of that save had caused an error and rebooted got back in and tried again, about a minute in game and the same error. So after re-boot i loaded an earlier save thinking perhaps the mission i'd been on had caused it....but after a couple mins the same BSOD.

So this time i re-loaded a save from a few hours ago and played, this time it was fine for maybe 5 mins before BSOD.

This is somewhat strange i thought since this is the first time in many hours of Stalkering i've had Blue screen errors and that it hits the game no matter what save.

So my question is. Is it possible that the engine has become corrupted and i have to re-install the game to fix it or is this error pointing towards a hardware issue that has suddenly developed during the stress Stalker put on my system?

My specs are:
Win 7 64x
2gig ram
Asus A89SLI Premium MB
Amd Athlon dual dore X2 4600+
ATI Radeon HD 4870

Default Re: Sudden Regular BSOD after many hours of no problems

Curious fix to my own error.

I tried many things such as Re-install, freeing up RAM and the like but eventually the thing that got me going again was just to re-load a very old save from Hours and Hours ago and then play that for a bit, after maybe 20 mins i could then load saves that previously would have crashed the game in less than a minute of play and progress with them fine.

No idea what was wrong, not even the Oblivion lost RC1 2009 mod guy knew, although he did have some very useful info.

So if you also suffer from a strange sudden occurance of BSOD's don't panic, just re-load, play for a bit on a save that dosen't crash and then get back to your modern point....without quitting inbetween and it'll be fine...i think.
