Issues Patching STALKER

I've owned the retail version of stalker since I stole the only copy at GameSpot and up until now I haven't had the issue I'm having now. I've been trying to install the game fresh and patch up to 1.0005 as to then install STALKER Complete 2009 but that's not working.

Here's the issue (and I realize it's OS related):
Every time I launch the patches for STALKER, they merely form a small box then vanish, failing to install. I go ingame and attempt to patch it but the auto-updater informs me that there are no new patches.
I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

What I'm really trying to ask for here is an unofficial way to patch this game or a way to install these patches that I haven't thought of yet.

I implore the FF community for their help.

You might not have the right to install the patch, or it is the wrong patch for the version of the game that you are using. If you have the North American version, you need the NA patches. Others are world-wide (WW), CIS, and digital distribution.

There could easily be a problem with UAC or permissions. You might need to try installing patches while running as administrator, or (not recommended; do a search about it) temporarily turn off UAC to install.

Another thing to try is to run it from a shell/command line interface/DOS box. I don't know what it is called in Windows 7; in XP it is called a command prompt. It might tell you what is not working.

One last suggestion: Sometimes uninstalling followed by the total annihilation of the STALKER installation directory (i.e., completely remove the directory and its contents) will fix the problem, allowing you to reinstall and patch without problems.

When i download and install patch 1.0004 it keeps crashing. Write now im using version 1.0003 and cant download mods like Oblivion lost and so. So please any one reading this help.

The patch installer crashes? Or the game crashes?

If the installer, it might be a problem with incompatible versions, although I'd expect the installer to be smart enough to tell you if so.
