I will add more to this as time permits. There is more than one way to fix some of these issues such as copy the missing files (Textures, Sounds, etc) from other mods or even within this mod. I know they are working on another patch, but this may help till it is completed.
You can find the xray_yourusername.log in here for vista : C:\Users\Public\Documents\stalker-shoc\logs. Can’t remember off hand for XP.
Hi Fearless. Great idea, opening this thread. J.J's mod is great, but has MANY problems. I've taken a different approach, by finding the missing textures from other mods, and copying them into the proper folders. Do you mind if I post those fixes here? I can even post the "fixed" files if anyone wants them.
I'm still working on the Faction Change issue, broken in this mod. I've managed to merge English language into the "stable_dialogs_bar.xml", but it appears to be a Google Translator translation, makes little sense. The FC dialogs appear to work (only with Sid), but actually make no difference. I'm comparing various mods with FC, plus Atrocious's stand alone. Hope to get it working, as Freedom hates me, for no reason. Only Freedomer I've killed is Snitch.
Yep, I am hoping a lot of people will chip in things here.
The english for Barman is something I have not figured out yet. I fould some of the text in crylic, but I am not sure what to put in for each section yet. I will try to coincide the lines positions in the phrases sid uses with the some ones Barman uses and see what happens when I get back in town this weekend.
I have a big problem with AMK 1.4... I am an hour through the game and just managed to sneak across the military checkpoint to help Fox... on the way back they saw me and clumped together down the hill.. so I saw an opportunity to throw a grenade at them and blew every single one to pieces. Took their gear and headed back to Sidorovich.
When I got there his door has no option to open anymore but I can open it by shooting at the door until it bounces open. Also the locker inside his room no longer lets me open/close it.
After exiting the bunker his door no longer slams shut.
I have checked back about 5 saves earlier and it still does it. I wouldnt mind too much going back to the save that still works but if it is gunna bug out again whats the point?
What the heck is wrong? I'd rather fix this than start again in fear of it happening again because it seriously ruins the feel of the game constantly wondering if a bug is gunna pop up
If anyone even knows what files might be to blame or what files can possibly affect the doors in the game I can inspect and maybe fix it.
The last game I played, had a couple of bugs like that, one was the stashes wouldn't clear after I emptied them so they always showed full. I couldn't remember which i had visited and which I had not.
Any way, I played it through and started another game. All is fine this time. Maybe it will work for you?
well i can give it a shot I just hope it doesnt do it again because I will enjoy this a lot if it just plays smoothly lol. Will try out that crosshair texture fix too mate, thanks a lot
One question, is it safe to change actor.ltx and inventory_sect.ltx to increase the carry weight or can it cause problems?
Also is it safe to either merge the autosave addons news_manager.script with the AMK one manually or using Smart Mod Manager?
Cant stand not being able to quick/autosave after just playing CoP hehe
Ah now ALL new savegames crash when I try to load them lol.. I opened unique_items.ltx and CTRL+F for any string with "HAKKO-15CH-b-AMK-T" and replaced it with "wpn_crosshair" and now it CTD on every single load
Maybe I did it wrong... here is what they all look like now.
UPDATE: After putting the original inventory_sect file back and overwriting the edited on.. gamesaves are still not loading and always CTD. This mod seems to have a mind of its own..
Oh this is so strange, I have re installed the mod from scratch and its still doing it.. How can this be?? It wasnt earlier and now it is.. I mean the only files that change are in gamedata folder right? Its not possible for a mod to corrupt other files is it? I will try reinstalling SoC sigh.
ANother update: Nope its screwed.. I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder then installed SoC + patch 1.5 + AMK just like I did the first time and gamesaves still dont work. I started a new game, played for a few mins and then saved. Tried to load and CTD..

CTD...true_blue, can you post the last part of the xray_****.log (****= your username)-AFTER a crash- found in XP in Documents and Settings\All users\Documents\Stalker-SHOC\logs\. Or in Vista and Win7 in Users\Public\Public Documents\Stalker-SHOC\logs? Just the last few lines, starting with FATAL ERROR.
Your "unique_items.ltx" looks OK. This mod still has a lot of issues, including missing sounds (.ogg files), and, of course, the missing scope textures. Faction change is broken, and some dialogs in BAR show in Russian. Looks like someone was translating the "stable_dialogs_bar.xml", and didn't finish. I found an english copy of the file in another mod, and merged it, but it's a "Google Translation", and makes little sense. Fearless and I have used the log file to fix most of our problems, but some remain. It should give us a clue.
Forgot to mention, there are other missing scope textures in addition to the HAKKO-15CH-b-AMK-T texture. You need to search for scope_texture, and replace ALL the textures with wpn\wpn_crosshair. I took another approach, I searched other mods such as OL 2.2, the original AMK 1.4, and the CSFM mod and found the missing textures.

After take a break from this for COP, I am back to this game and this mod. No more crashes after finding some of the textures/modding the files.
However, does anyone know where the file is that containes the portable stash backpack given out by traders? I sure would like to have a few more of them but can't find the file or even what it is called.
