PC Reboots every 2 minutes.

I have a terrible problem that happens only with Stalker. My PC reboots every 2 minutes while playing. I never had this problem again, with other s/w or games.

I have tried everything, latest patches and mods, but nothing happened. I also bought extra Fan, i removed cd-rom and TV Cards (in case of overheating or pwoer overload) but problem remains.

I have a Dual Core 6200, and 2 videocards Nvidia 7600GT in SLI.

Any Help?

sounds to me like a system dump, something in your pc either software or hardware may be clashing with something else when you're running the game. can't think right now of the best way to fix this, sorry. hopefully someone else will have an idea. there is a way to switch off the system reboot option when theres an error but i cant find it at the mo. i'll post when i remember it. good luck.

clean it out? open the case and check it out. if not a physical problem, then you might want to scan your comp for viruses and the like.

Ah...I dont know about this one.I had the same problem and I had tried everything.You think it might just be when you are playing stalker but it happens on other games too.My solution to this problem was : BUYING A NEW MOTHER BOARD.I did that and it stopped because my mother board(the damaged one) was damaged physicaly.Nothing else.

Thank you all for your help. I have tried everything. I have removed one of 7600GT, problem remains. I installed Vista to a second HD, problem remains. I have tried one by one my memory modules (Supertalent 1GB, 667), problem remains (only to STALKER!).
Today i will try to use different memory modules, (I have borrowed a pair of 512MB). If nothing changes, maybe i will change my MB.

Before you go buying all sort of things and spending your money on not necessary things listen to this first.

There are some guides and pointers on the net.About your problem:

If your computer shutdowns are randomly coming,I am preety sure that your MotherBoard is phisically damaged. 100% !!!

I did the same thing,I bought a new 512 Mb ram,didnt really help,I got a new graphic card,also didnt help,I got a new MotherBoard,heureka,IT WORKED !!!

I think you have a problem with RAM, how many MB do you have in RAM, or maybe you have to check you motherboard and RAM just in case if there is many dust try to clean it, many games that are using too many MB of RAM and the STALKER one of them, espacially if you are using Windows Vista probably you must have at least 2GB of RAM.
