| I'm sure I'll be entirely happy with this game if I can just get mods to work. Can anyone help? I'm using the latest worldwide version and got three or four mods - a sleeping bag, Sidorovich unlocked, a rebalance, that sort of thing, but none of them work. I've altered that fsdata.ltx line to allow mods as all the readmes say, but the game doesn't seem to recognise the mods - it doesn't crash or anything, it simply ignores them. At first I thought it was Morrowind all over again - mods creating duplicate Data Files folders within the main Data Files folder and preventing the game from locating the textures, etc. So I put the subfolders from all mods out in the main STALKER directory, and still no result. Then I put them in the Mods folder and changed the line in fsdata pertaining to mods to true| true| Still nothing. Rather than endure the tedium of unpacking all the components of the mod into the main directory or the mod folder, does anyone know how this can be fixed? |

| Simple question: can i play stalker on sempron 3000, 512mb ddr400, radeon 9250 128mb, chipset nForce3, windows xp pro sp2? I have patch 1.0005. |

| Hate to say it, but I don't think so. Put it this way, I have a Sempron 3200 overclocked, 1 1/2 gigs of ddr400, and a ATI 9800 Pro 512mb. The game runs fine on lowest setting (view distance nearly at full, textures are 2nd lowest), but I do get some very occasional stutter. If you happen to put extra loot in stashes, or have a lot of action going on, you might get some serious issues.

| Lol, I enjoy my game with P4 2.6 Ghz, 1.5 GB ram, Nvidia FX5200 128mb and an audigy2 soundcard. With minimum and some tweaks you should play the game without problems. And I will play stalker on a Q6700 ~2,6 quad core, 3gb ddr2 ram and a nvidia 9800GTX 512MB with DDr3! in a few months @SomeEvilShadow, why don't you ebay some extra rams for your computer? |

| Hey all, just got Stalker, with patch 1.0004, tryng to play and game keeps crashing. Apparent acorrding to the report, there is too many lmap textures. Here is the crash result. Loading textures... * t-report - base: 865, 67599 K * t-report - lmap: 10, 10241 K ***FATAL***: Too many lmap-textures (limit: 8 textures or 32M). Reduce pixel density (worse) or use more vertex lighting (better). Tried playing at both 16 and 32 bit colour resolution, no difference, tried reducing the resolution and all qualitys in the game to min, no luck. Any suggestions? All help welcomed, thanks. |

| As far as I know the lmap error doesn't crash the game. Can you look at the end of the log? There should be a block with FATAL ERROR and some explanation. You didn't add any mods yet? |

| Nope, this is the only FATAL in the entire report. CLIENT: Spawning... - Game configuring : Started - Game configuring : Finished * phase time: 461 ms * phase cmem: 261949 K Loading textures... * t-report - base: 865, 67599 K * t-report - lmap: 10, 10241 K ***FATAL***: Too many lmap-textures (limit: 8 textures or 32M). Reduce pixel density (worse) or use more vertex lighting (better). * phase time: 4735 ms * phase cmem: 261949 K The only other thing is right down the bottom, not sure if relevant. stack trace: 001B:023FAEA2 xrRender_R1.dll [error][ 259] : No more data is available. |

| Taggieee, there is a random initialization bug that occasionally results in broken door switches on a level, although once you get the problem, all subsequent savegames will keep it. You can bump Sidorovich's door open with a body. You can try to run at it hard; maybe it will bounce open enough for you to push it open the rest of the way, and then prop it open with one of the boxes nearby. There's also a mod that moves the door out of the way when you start a new game. Another thing you can do is get the Zone Reclamation Project (ZRP) bugfix mod. The 1.05 test or later is recommended; it has two workarounds in the mod to address this issue, although you'll need to read the readme. It also has fixes for this same broken-door-switch issue when it occurs in Dark Valley. NamedStalker, listen to Atrocious -- the lmap error is not really the problem. Lightmap problems don't crash the game. But your static lighting renderer had a problem, perhaps due to a special effect causing an error in the video driver. I've had this xrRender_R1.dll error on most maps, but fortunately they are relatively rare. This problem is not normally a showstopper. You can reload your last save and resume play. However, some "no more data is available" errors are caused by another issue: running out of application process space. This is different than virtual memory space. If you are running Vista, see the fix involving bcdedit to increase this process space, linked elsewhere in this thread. If you are running XP, reduce your texture quality and look at turning off video features until you get to a point where it no longer crashes. Last edited by NatVac; August 28th, 2008 at 04:44 AM..
