Just curious. Seems like the effect from a burner or from that gas jet in the underground at Yantar would be good for the flame effect. The rest would be modeling the weapon. Heck, even the sound effect from the gas jet could be used. And damage to others/NPCs could be like that from burner. The real question is, will the gas jet effect or burner effect work while at the end of a weapon which is constantly moving around?

I think the amk mod added it but the mod runs crappy on 1.0005 patch. Didn't keep it installed long enough to find the flame thrower.

The flamethower works perfectly since AMK 1.1 release, which is around spring 2008. It is given as a reward from Cap at the Barrier, for a "destroy Monolith strike squad" task. You can repair it at the Screw at Freedom base, and he is refilling the weapon too, needing colloidal gas ballons and fuel (benzene) canisters. Screw will ask for some spare parts, as well as an Fireball artifact for welding work. The weapon is devastating, for all types of mutants, except electrochimeras.

If you're on any other patch than 1.0004, don't bother with amk.

On the AMK developper's site, www.amk-team.ru, for those who can read and understand Russian, there is a forum topic how to edit ingame files to make AMK 1.4.1 release work with ANY patch, not just 1.0004. And there might be unofficial patches for the mod to work as well. So for the 1.0004.

Unreal freeplay mod mix 1.01 also has the flame thrower in it as well. It can be bought from Barkeep along with the fuel.
