| Well lately I have been optimising the monkey shit out of two very popular shader packages. Sky4CE SkyGRAPGICS v2.0 RC4.1 and Stalker Forever Water Shaders v1.0. These shaders include stuff such as God Rays, Sun Shafts, Parallax Occlusion Mapping, Depth of Field, Motion Blur etc This mod is for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl. I have basically removed all unnecessary shit and spaces in the shaders to reduce the amount of stuff for your computer to read. With these shaders there is absolutely NO quality loss at all. BENCHMARKS Sky4CE + Water Shaders = 44 - 46 fps STALKER Shaders MAX = 54 - 57 fps That is basically an extra 10 fps with no loss in quality! I still haven't finished every shader file.. I have done about half of them so expect updates and a higher framrate! Latest version is v0.83 ![]() Feel free to post screenshots and performance benchmarks! | Forgive me if you already have, but why not upload it to the stalker files site? Also, this sounds good, I will give it a shot!

Sounds neat. I love putting graphics to the max on games (but my PC isn't amazing... but it can run Stalker Clear Sky on the High, and the weirdest thing is it runs better on High than on Medium, Low, etc.). I'll try this soon. -David PS: I sub'd. Sounds too cool; can't wait for some screenshots. Last edited by deeb97; 4 Weeks Ago at 02:20 AM..

I was working on another version today that messes around with some of the DirectX 8 files. Theoretically there should be a performance increase but it isn't really noticeable on my computer seeing as I get around 140-160 FPS

@kingo64: Wow... 140 FPS!? I don't even know a game on my PC that can do that... I think my copy of Fallout 1 can, though (yes, I still play the ancient one...).

Here to report a possible bug: Shadows get lighter when you step into the sunlight and darker when you step into the shadow, but I think it's supposed to be the other way around. I don't know if you call this Bloom or HDR or what but I'm pretty sure something is backwards. Then again, maybe it's my video card driver or OS or something.

That specifically is called Tonemapping which is usually integrated with HDR. I suggest you change your tonemapping settings in the console or update your drivers. Another suggestion would be to turn off or play with the SSAO settings.

How would I change my SSAO settings? I don't think ShoC supports SSAO or HDR, so I'm not sure how I would change it. Would it be in user.ltx? What specific lines should be changed? It seems like this mod is what needs to be changed, since ShoC doesn't have these features by default. Am I wrong? I have an Nvidia 8800GTS video card.

It is in the "SkyGRAPHICS_options.cfg" file. Located in gamedata/shaders/r2. That is where you can change all the settings.
