Arrow S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha

Have you ever dreamt about playing the old, forgotten S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ?

We were amazed by GSC's work when they released the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. screenshots in 2002. The old design, and atmosphere was stunning and we couldn't believe in our eyes. Later in the end of 2005, beginning of 2006 something has changed. Maybe data loss? ... who knows. They redesigned almost all old levels. Some of the levels became smaller, simpler (still nice but some areas can't be compared with the old ones), and some levels were removed. After the release in 2007 we played the game a lot, and noticed that some areas are missing. We opened forums, and talked countless nights about it for almost a year. Nowdays we could say, we have a full vision about GSC's old levels, due to the collected materials, videos and forgotten screenshots. We decided to remake those stunning areas, maybe they wont be the same, but we will try everything to make them very similar and also we will add our own creative parts.

However GSC released a build, called 1935, which contains many old maps. We will use them, but also adjust them for our liking, and we wont throw out our own remade levels. So you will see our own made Deadcity, Darkscape and Rostok Factory in game too.


The list of levels we remake from scratch: (upd. 12 March 2009)
  • Dead City (already finished before beta was released, so it might be different a bit )
  • Darkscape (50%)
  • Rostok Factory (finished for priboi 1.2, but since it was cancelled, now it will be for L.A.)
  • Darkvalley (90%)
  • Pripyat (10%)
The list of levels we will use from old stalker:
  • Cordon (completed)
  • Garbage (completed)
  • Agroprom (completed)
  • Yantar (completed)
  • Swamp (90%)
  • Radar (completed)
  • Generators (completed)
  • Bar-Rostok (completed)
  • Warlab (completed)
  • Secret lab (completed)
  • Darklab (completed)
  • Stancia (90%)

However this addon is not just about levels and levels. We will try to remake the old somewhat, but not fully restricted alife, and return a lot of cutout features. Also a new story will appear in the addon, with some returned old tasks, which were awaited by many "stalkers".

Infinite% reason to install Stalker again. I enjoyed Priboy Story and I will enjoy lost alpha. Keep up the good work.

thanks. currently we are writing the storyline, and then try to apply it to the game. will be hard enough, since we learned a lot since priboi release, and it will be more complex.

after the release, we will release our documentation about xray engine for modders.

I have a mod idea. It doesn't have to be included in Lost Alpha, it would be cool though. To make the game more challenging, remove the save option. The player has to find a safe house and safe his game. That's more challenging, right?
I'd make a mod like this. Too bad I don't know anything about modding.

What about just not saving your game for a while or only save when you exit the game? That's more challenging right?

Or reasign the fast save key to another one which is a bit out of the way like F11?

Same here. I have reasigned it several times since it has become habit from other games. You really do try harder not to die when ya haven't saved for a couple of hours.

we announced the complete levels list for lost alpha project. this is the final version, no more levels will be added, and we wont remove any.
