Default Monster loot tables

I can't seem to find the tables that govern the drop rates of a monster's body parts. I thought it would be similar to the death_items_by_communities file that I see in some STALKER mods, but there isn't a section in there for monsters. Does anyone know the name of the file I'd be dropping into gamedata/config/misc to determine the items they'd be dropping when they die?

P.S. I'm not trying to make stalkers drop monster parts, that's easy to do. I want to adjust how often monsters drop their own parts when I kill them.

You have to go into config/creatures/ and then the file for whichever monster you want to edit. In that file you will find, for example :

Spawn_Inventory_Item_Section = mutant_boar_leg
Spawn_Inventory_Item_Probability = 0.1

0.1 is 10%... I think vanilla is 0.2 for that creature but I lowered a few of them .

Thumbs up Re: Monster loot tables

Fantastic, thanks for the info. I've always found the mmo-style 10% drop to be really unrealistic, and it totally kills the atmosphere in stalker for me to kill 10+ mutants before I get a tail that's plainly visible on every dog I killed. I plan to increase the frequency and number (hey, a boar has 4 hooves) and decrease their value accordingly. That way, I can still feel like I accomplished something bringing back 15 kilos of monstermeat.

Thanks for the answer!

That's not the item itself, but the 'condition' of the item : if you killed a dog with a full clip (or a rpg7 rocket..), the tail is not in good condition, so it's not useful to get it: noone will buy it..

My opinion only..

PS: I made a 'personal' patch for me to get 2 hooves (boar), 2 eyes (flesh) or 2 feet (snork). Will post it later after some cleaning..

Hi all,
New around these parts. I edited the mutant's files as well, making the " Spawn_Inventory_Item_Probability" 1.0 for every mutant that has the parameter (some of them don't, is this usual? I'm using the Oblivion Lost mod though, maybe some mods edit it). I didn't start a new game (and too far in to restart), but somehow it worked for the first 5 mins of the game. The first four boars I killed all yielded 1 boar leg each, but from that point on mutants yield parts just as sparingly as before the modification. Even boars that I encountered afterwards don't spawn parts anymore (I use "anymore" because the probability is so low that I almost never see any). Any ideas?

I certainly hope the modification won't need a restart to take effect =( I want those pseudodog tails!
