S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Oblivion Lost (by Kanyhalos)

Sorry, mate. It's been a rough summer. Girlfriend lives with her grandparents. Uncle came home; intervenes. Girlfriend sent to live with dad one state over (only 30 minute drive, but tech school we go to doesn't serve that town). Now she's off at another school, and I'm not sure I have the self-confidence to deal with it. However, no excuse, and again, I apologize.

So I was playing OL the other day: I was in AW and 3 controllers spawned roughly 10m behind me. They all started doing the mind-control crap that un-equips your weapon, and I couldn't get away. I only use the quicksave, and my autosave was bad(I'll explain in a sec). There was no recent blowout, and I was joined up with Freedom. I was right about at the 3-way intersection.

Anyways, the autosave was unfortunate, because there were some Duty members behind the level changer, coming from Bar. I got lucky on one of my 3 tries to get past them and quicksaved without thinking.

Bug report: Issue with the controllers.
Help?: I need a gamesave.

well ive been slowly making a guide on the zone for OL (just focusing on weapons, armor and field tatics complete with pics) im slowly taking my time with it so i dont know when it will be finshed (stupid social life)

Ok the M134 or miniguns ltx is in config weapons with the rest, but its called wulkano for Vulcan, because someone obviously confused it with the 20mm, Just for your interest the MG3 is a moderinised version of the MG42, some have AA sights even. BTW CS has been delayed i noticed you hadn't noticed in your post so I thought I'd say, it's now gonna be released some time in september.
Ona nother note if you do find the M134 and it seems silent {some others had this problem} I have posted the real M134 firing sound which works perfectly in-game, you'll have to search though, I cannot remember what topic it was... Or page number.

I havent trusted QS and AS since I was a noob at the game.....its a good way to wind up starting over.....

Eh, yea i never think that someone might have a rough time in RL, alot of people just come to forums to be jerks and it grinds my gears but w/e lets put it all behind us its a stupid XP vs Vista thing anyways :P

As for your issue with the controller i think its just very unfortunate timing, id recommend using a trainer for 1.0005 and set the godmode,braindamage, and bleeding, take care of the controllers and duty, then fix yourself up and disable the trainer.

I actually know its out on September 5th but its only 2-2.5 weeks away and they still dont have it in their system, they're a friggin GAME STORE lolz and they dont have a clue. Ill try maybe like 5 days before it comes out because i really want it on the 5th, its gonna be great.

And i dont really use the minigun but thanks for the fix, a bunch of other people have this problem so i think we should stick it into abandonators FAQ on the front page.

EDIT: Ok i found your post, id recommend telling abandonator to stick the link from THIS post into the faqs with an explanation for where to extract it. But i still think it just plays too fast because i found the original ogg file and it sounds fine but it may have been for the MG3 thats why

Anyways I found all of the proper ltx files for the weapons:

w_mg3.ltx = MG3
wulkano.ltx = minigun
w_mounted.ltx = rpk

However, i helped my friend get the weapons using a script in bind_stalker.script because his game got screwed up or something and the MG3 was not at the brain scorcher for him but it was for me and he still plays OL2.1 so no chance an NPC picked it up. I got the MG3 and the minigun with the script but i cant find the inv_name for the RPK, the ltx file (w_mounted.ltx) is very disorganized, i found an inv_name at the very bottom but it was really weird, it didnt follow any syntax, it actually says "Mounted Weapon". When my bud used the name is crashed his game but he only "Left the standing" and didnt quit the game. So he restarted the game and when he did, his whole computer crashed so something with the inv_name tag. Anyone know the proper inv_name tag?

The marked one honestly needs an exoskeleton to hold that thing up?? Man that''s even more silly then the pkm needing an exoskeleton.

Although I haven't seen the gun in action so I can't tell of the asskicking factor .

It actually has a very powerful kick to it, its a remake of the WWII MG42 which you definitely cannot carry, this gun weighs 11.5kg plus a box of 50 rounds of ammo which i can estimate at around 5kg? so thats a good 15kg of mass hitting you in the shoulder for every round fired and it can fire 1150rpm which is twice as many as an AK47 and you're trying to stand with it. It weighs 27.5kg mounted on a tripod but obviously its only for stationary units. So ya he needs an exoskeleton :P

Btw i couldnt find it in game either so if you want i can give you the code to give yourself the MG3

Yes I kinda figured because the barell was as long as my privates I knew it was the kind of gun that had to be setup and fired stationary but he doesn't need an exo just to carry it........firing it is another matter.


But the PKM makes no sense at all. Even soilders can use the PKM effectivly while standing.
