Sounds like a task_manager.script incompatibility issue to me.

It is a clean install of stalker, 1.005, 1.2 patch will let me get to game, but crashes on NPC chat, 1.22 crashes on run.

Note that I'm using STEAM, is it confirmed to work with STEAM?

Oh and I have no other mods, this is the first one I've tried, but I edited the files properly and all that (and the menu comes up on 1.2, so I know it's activating and all). I'm gonna try the new link you gave me.

Ok the megaupload file works fine....i had probs with the other one....second steam is shit so you should just go out and buy the game in a shop...and third...well that's it really...unless i didn't mention how shit steam is of course

I SAID THAT YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE 1.2 MOD and the 1.2.1 PATCH!!!
1.2.1 with DOT!!!!! NOT 1.21 or 1.22, I just can't delete or edit my previous posts in this poorish supported forum.

USE THE 1.2.1. PATCH!!!!

My mod doesn't have task_manager.script! The problem is that these guys always download old forgotten patches, etc.

BTW I don't wanna hurt anybody, so I'm sorry about my speaking style, but everybody must read the readme and understand what I said before.
How can I help if you always copied don't preferred patches, uses different mods, versions, combines the latest version with old patches?

Sorry but I don't like this forum too much, because when I go to here I always read unbelievable CTD reports, and after that ALWAYS clear up that users do something wrong everytime.

I understand your english fine, and realize how frustrating this must be for you (I make mods and maps too). I just appreciate the fact that you're here supporting your mod at all, and as long as we sort this out I'll be thrilled. I'll be testing the proper version today and reporting back.

Still not working. This version is much better, darker nights, better menu, etc., but it still CTDs when I talk to certain NPCs or say certain things to other NPCs.

could you post the end of your log file? (documents & settings \ default user \ documents \ stalker-shoc \ logs\ logfile)

Log is completely blank. There was also an old log, which was also completely blank. I'm on Vista btw, so it's in Users\Public\Documents\Stalker-SHOC\logs. Just figured I'd mention that so anyone else who's looking for 'em would know.

ah well, stalker is buggy on vista sometimes, but i cant say thats the problem... hm. gonna check the files. brb

Tried two driver versions, and four mod versions. I'm trying on a computer with an ATI card, to make sure it's not a driver issue (PC has Vista as well). If it works on there, I'll reinstall Windows on this PC just for the mod. If I can provide any more details to help you help me, just ask.
