I have a great idea! NPC's can join your party. I know that certain NPC's will join you for quests, but I'm talking about a dialogue option that says 'Want to join my party?' or something. Almost every NPC should have this option, so now the Marked One can go on raids, expeditions, and murder sprees with whoever he wants whenever he wants. I'm sure this would cause a few balancing problems, but that's nothing a modder can't fix, right?
Please make this mod and release it one STALKERfiles! Thanks!
Party members are a definate must for sure. That's one I imagine is on at least a few modders minds, and bound to come out as soon as somebody figures out all the details to make it work. It may or may not require the SDK, some of the things I've seen done so far without it have been amazing and I wouldn't have thought possible without the SDK. So who knows, one of these talented guys are probably already ahead of us on this one I bet
Thing is, most of the Group Efforts in the game are either common goal (Mutant Swarms trying to kill you. They all want you dead, so they all go after you.) or raids where the NPCs are on Tracks telling them "go here" they get there, then normal NPC AI kicks in and combat starts since the "Go here" thing gets them into fighting range.
I'd imagine Squads would take some nasty AI coding that I'm pretty sure would need a Developer Released SDK or some Insane Community Created SDK made by some crazy stalker fans that know quite a bit about computers.

yeah! i was allways going back to tolik to see if he could join me, i did save his petty life after all.
Well, I definitely want this, but I think some restrictions are in order. Like you need to be at least rank X or higher (50 maybe?) So NPCs know you are badass enough to earn their respect.
If NPCs have a rank then it could be something more like your rank needs to be X higher than theirs. So if it was 20 ranks higher, you could never recruit the top 20 NPCs (even if you were the number 1 Stalker).

Using a small tweak to the way Stalkers use items, I dropped in a quick mod so that I can now arm folks. They actually use the weapons I drop for them now. Tolik got a nice G36 to help him out

no, in the beginning you ask tolik to join yu, we should just figure a way to change that, make hime invincible or change his armor and you can drop guns at his feet for when ever he needs a new one. oh, and chang his ammo capacity to infinate so he doesn't just start makaroving people

nice about the g36, but does he run out of ammo? or do you not know?
