Freedom is as cohesive a unit as any other faction. if you play on Freedom's side, the first quest you get, it's you and like, ten other Freedomers sent out to wipe out the Dutyers in the Army Warehouse. Freedomers aren't loners banding together... they're Dutyers with different with a different philosophy and different guns.
The only faction in the game that wouldn't have large squads would be the Loners...

freedom as the idea of them, not the ingame equivilent, is disorganized, and realy just there for fun and money. they are anarchists for fu*k sakes!
Why the f*** does everyone think that Freedom are anarchists? They're not anarchists. They believe that the Zone should be opened to everyone, and that there should be no secrets or "classified information". That's what their idea is, that's what their philosophy is. Duty beleives that the Zone should be closed off, Freedom thinks the Zone should be opened. It's not a battle between order and anarchy, it's about information and money. Duty wants to keep everything closed off to "protect the world", and Freedom wants the Zone opened up so that everyone can learn and profit.
More or less, Duty is the equivalent of Cold War Russia, where everything was about secrets, propaganda, and knowing everything without letting everyone else know. Freedom is ther equivalent of America; open economy, flowing information.

But we're not talking about the idea of them. We are talking about the ingame equivelent, which is, an organized group of men, in the zone.
There ya go. The most disorganized groups in the game would be Loners, who don't give two s***s about anyone, and the Bandits, who are criminals that have escaped to the Zone either because they don't wanna spend time in prison, or because they want to make money like everyone else.
Freedom, Duty, and the military would all have the most organization, the military above all.
Monolith would definitely be anarchists, and nuts at that, so they'd be chaotically organized; I'd like to think of them as guerilla troops, hitting and running, not using large squads, but rather working in small teams of two or three, or by themselves.

Instead of massively large groups that like to spray and pray.
Spoiler:
That's what it felt like at the NPP. Just maybe, a hundred or so of them, just shooting bullets at me, maybe only one or two hit me. I pretty much ran through there without any problems.
Why the f*** does everyone think that Freedom are anarchists?
because that is exactly what they are described as ingame! jeez...

ok, if we are comparing factions to countries than duty is just like any other in that they are trying to keep ordinary, inocent people from being further effected by the zone.
Freedom would be more like a freestate(not america, them just like another country have their share of secrets.{remember roswell? guess what, some of the locals there have never even heard of that incident, and I wounder why? could it be the same reason they denied they found anything of interest when clearly they did?no! that is propsterous!
if anyone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are anarchists, it's going to be the monolith.
why? they just love their stone! remember in pripyat? they where all just chanting and worshoping a chunk of garbage they had piled into the theater! that was so much fun! none of em got up as i systematicly exicuted them with a single shot in the back of the head, right where the spine and the skull connect. after all im only human, you gotta put them down so they don't feel it
