| I don't know if this would be possible, but how about a playable guitar? And, I know this is on a tangent, SITTING! (It'd also be amusing to be able to hit people with bread, or throw vodka, or hit people with breakable-guitars.) By the by, to bullets have any attributes? |

| That's a bit beyond basic modding there While NPCs do sit, I doubt it'd be a simple hack to make it so you could, as well.As for playing a guitar, it theoretically exists, but only NPCs do it. Maybe you can shoehorn the guitar into a slot and it'll play that way :P Bullet data is stored in the weapons.ltx file in the /weapons directory. Scroll past the weapon includes and you'll find ammo data. I haven't tinkered with it too much yet. Increasing box size is useful, sometimes =D |

Now, having a playable guitar would do nothing gameplay-wise, I guess, but I reckon it'd add massively to the feeling of immersion. I don't know how easy it would be to do... my own modding (thanks to these tutorials!) has been just changing stats around and such so far... I have no idea if a new 'weapon' (ie. a guitar) could be added so it can be equipped (maybe in a weapon slot, if there's no other way), and then played ('fired' if it was made as a weapon, perhaps, with no damage of course!), but that would be VERY neat if it could be done, letting you walk around or crouch by a fire, playing the guitar songs already in the game. In other words, if anyone can figure out how to make a 'guitar' mod... count me as interested too! Incidentally... are guitars actually in the game as objects that can be picked up and carried (just not used)? I haven't found one, but I remember reading somewhere that at least one was found (and it was pretty heavy!). Maybe it was planned to let you play it in the game, and it was something else unfinished/left out? |

| There's a guitar in a stash named "guitar" along with a night vision goggles named "hand_radio" in the normal single player game. The best part about hand_radio is that yes, it works as nvg and it actually changes to the good kind of nightvision every once in a while for no reason. The stash? In a red dumpster somewhere filled with radiation. Maybe in the area between yantar and the bar... I can't remember. |

| Just wanted to thank Niphty for the awesome armor mod tutorial. I went ahead and posted a set to stalkerfiles for people to use and credited you with the tutorial (and linked to it in the comments section for others to come and see what your doing for the Stalker community). The X-46 Advanced Battlearmor Suit is now available for download thanks to your excellent teaching. Keep up the good work. And thank you. |

| I should probably package all of these into a "god-mod" set so people who just want to cheat it can have their wish granted :P Glad you found them of use, though. Looks like the majority of the basic mods are covered, hopefully someone else can come and fill in for more advanced things for people =D As for the guitar, it's pretty easy to shoehorn into a slot; making it playable is another thing entirely. |

| These tutorials really are fantastic, Niphty... they're very informative but easy to understand, too. Thanks! Oh, and is it true that there's also a harmonica in the game (*thinks: harmonica in pistol slot, guitar in rifle slot!* ). |

![]() Thank you for this, Niphty! I had been (is that grammatically correct?) trying to get my weapons to work... never thought of using unique_items, though. -- Griffinhart |

| Grr... can't edit, so I'm sorry for the double-post. Anyhow, I found something out that's very nifty for those of us modding guns. For scope_zoom_factor, the lower the number, the better! I checked the .ltx for the L85, and next to scope_zoom_factor = 30, I saw a comment saying "SUSAT 2X". For my modified weapon, I changed the number to 60, resulting in almost no zoom whatsoever. I changed it again to 15, and I got 4X zoom. So yeah; the lower the scope_zoom_factor, the more zoom there is. -- Griffinhart
