Double Damage MOD - Download here

For everyone who is upset about the rather unrealistic damage in such a realistic game, I've created a patch that will increase the damage done by all weapons!

It comes in two flavors:

Double damage: http://www.pulpscrew.org/files/folde...e/entry55.aspx

Triple damage: http://www.pulpscrew.org/files/folde...e/entry53.aspx

Due to how damage is calculated in STALKER, triple damage is truly realistic, in the sense that two shots to the chest will bring down the player and most stalkers even from early gane pistols. The triple damage mod is not for everyone, rambo's need not apply! You have to be stealthy and patient as death can come unexpectedly and can be very quick! Gunfights play out differently and long range sneaky shooting is the only way to survive! You'll want to avoid fights against multiple enemies, just as in real life. The difference between weapons is now more in handling than damage, since most weapons kill in 2-3 shots. A wise player will use silencers and SMGs in close quarter combat and silenced sniper rifles in long range combat.

Double damage is better for players who want a damage scale equivalent to CS. Expect 3-4 shots to the chest to be fatal though. The damage difference between weapons is more pronounced in this version.

The patches were created by modifying the gamedata.dba file and then using a patch creator utility. MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR OLD GAMEDATA.DBA FILE BEFORE APLYING THE PATCH! This patch will most likely break official patches for STALKER, that is why it is neccessary to have a backup of the gamedata.dba file. Multiplayer probably won't function with this patch.

It is largely untested, so I don't assume any responsibility for loss or damages resulting from use. From my experience, everything works correctly with both patches, but key characters might die very quickly.

Cheers & happy stalking!

We'll see. It's not only the damage done to the player that was increased, enemies fall just as quickly (ordnance damage was increased - guns, the knife, RPGs... creature attacks were left untouched). I'm playing on the master difficulty and being sneaky and using silenced weapons made the game easier on certain occasions. You can take out whole groups if you attack unexpectedly, from cover or in the dark. Of course, head on assault with the super realistic mode is nearly impossible against a larger number of enemies (just as in real life), but still feasible if with the double damage mod.

Hi I want congratulate to you becouse I like the realism and in this kind of game there is ever a total unreal damage and other wrong things. So using the tripledamage the game became finally a good game. The game became ridicolous with the original damage settings I do a little modification smiilar for rainbowsix vegas.
So tripledamage is the best becouse is more realistic

One thing, can you make the same mod for the new patch? I see it work only in the 1.0.

And finally can I suggest to make 2 other realistic changes if you intend to do a next version?

1)If you can toggle off the classic zoom effect when aim with iron sight-
It is just anormal it dosn't exist any zoom of visual when you aim but this is another costant problem of the first person shooter.

2)Maybe it improved realism if you correct a little the impossible traiectory of bullets becouse it's too much wrong. So maybe is better with a improvement of accuracy. not perfect accuracy becouse isn't realistic but 80% or 70%

Bye and good work
