Can our mod be copywrited?

Hello

Were making a mod right now that we would like to start hiring some poeple and showing some of our work but before we do that I was wondering if our mod should be first copywrited. I would think that we should but do other mods copywrite their game? If we cant copywrite the mod can we at least coprywrite our storyline and its content?

Thanks

What you do have is basically a trademark for the work you've done. So if you have renders ect. You can go ahead and place your mods logo and the names of who did the work in photoshop on that image. Mods don't focus on these matters because you aren't a real company. Just make your stuff and see what you can pull up.

Simple advise, don't speak about everything you have planned and what is going to be in your mod. Because that's just when you fuck yourself in your own ass.

You can not legally claim ownership over a game modification, because the game engine/material belongs to the game developer. That is also why you can not legally sell game modifications.

Putting a logo or watermark on your stuff is your best bet :)

Yeah I get the point but thanks for your input. So basicly all we need to do is put our logo on pics of our work, and no signing legal papers or any of that stuff. (Sorry kind of new to tradmarking stuff) Ok.

Thank you both again for your input
