Heh, I already did. With Weather Overhauled v3.0, sweet.
Anyway, I saw on youtube that some people have stalker npc's (like Wolf?). Is that a fix or modification? Or I am doing something wrong in the game.

It is a big shit!!! This could be the real SOC but they think that a baby cries because he play a cool game. However, it is good because it was released ... buggy, but it works. Who knows what other cool games were not released because of this shit...

1.3 gig? Im going stalking at school =D

Hopfully this gets modded so as to be bug reduced (we all know its impossible for a stalker game to be bug free) and acts as a third stalker. Oh the possibilities seem near endless and wonderful!

I don't see any special on this video. It is vanilla NPP and they use green hand texture from beta. And 1-2 dog is running there. Where is modding going? Everyone is doing the same. A bit boring. I will wait for Lost Alpha aka old priboi 2.0. If anyone can make something new, they are! (Lost Alpha mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - Mod DB)

Well then, build is a build, do not expect a playable game.
But areas are very huge, and very detailed, so big that it is questionable if they are playable, and not boring, and should be filled with quests to the maximum possible extent, to capture player interest. If not, they will be simply boring. For most of us...
That doesn't mean that they do not look gorgeous and unforgettable.
So what I have readed at other sites and forums, mostly Russian ones...

The build 1935 is simply to be unpacked elsewhere on your harddisk. It will require some 2.6 gb free space, and it will occupy your Windows pagefile almost to the top. So have a huge and fast HDD.
Then, it will require DX8 video card with 128 mb VRam, and 1.6 GHZ CPU at least.
Sound is in a workaround stage, so expect glitches and buzzing, but any sound card produced since 2004 will runn fairly well.
The build is very unstable, and usually it is started via .bat file, which refers to user.ltx file, inwhich are saved current player settings.
Like that:

@xr_3da.exe - nocache -ltx user.ltx - external -start server (all/single/alife) client(localhost)

where 'all' is name of a savegame. So different saves are startable, but from a .bat file only. How to make a .bat file?! With Notepad, and then change its extension fron .txt to a .bat. To run a different save, edit the .bat file again.That's that.

How to save a game?
Via console, ingame started by '~' (tilde) key. Consloe will open halfway over a game screen, and you will notice many XRay engine reports, most of them marked in red (hehe), but do not worry, just tupe 'save mygame' or a different save, and you are done.

Other useful console command is loading a level. Yes, this is build, and you can load any level, because there is no storyline, and storuline script does not exist. If you notice some of the storyline tasks while talking to someone, so to say, Sidorovich, do not pick them, the game will crash. But you can pick up map related tasks, like 'bring me a Night Star artifact' (which would be Ночнаја Ѕвезда in Russian, or something alike) and it will work. Barmen simply does not exist. Bar is do connected with Rostok (known as Wild Territory in ShoC) but is indeed very buggy, and filled with stalkers and monsters running around an doing nothing.

Here is a list of available levels in build 1935, loadable via console commands:


l01_escape

l04_darkdolina (Dark Valley)

l07_military (Army Warehouses)

l08_deadcity (Limansk, first next to the Warehouses)
l09_swamp (on the way to Red Forest! Not at the start, like in CSky)
l10_radar (Red Forest, can be acdesed from Limansk too)
l10u_radar_bunker (X19, or Control Bunker)
l12_stancia (Chernobyl NPP)
l12u_sarcofag
l10u_secret_lab (laboratory under Sarcophagus, or X10)
l13_generators (forest field with antenas, the place of the second explosion in 2006)
l13u_warlab (the final lab from where Generators field is controlled)

So you should just type jump_to_level l05_bar_rostok in console, and you are there. Remember though that you request will be writtn in user.ltx, so next time you startt the game via you .bat file, you will begin at the last level chosen. It is wise to make multuple saves at single location.

By default, player starts in 'god' mode, because this is a testing bulid. Which means that you are invulnerable. At any time this can be changed via console

g_god off
g_god on

to bring it back again.
Or edit apropriate line in user.ltx file.

If you need more graphics detail, simply add '-rs_detail on' elsewhere at your /bat file, most likely at the end of the line.

Note that by default 'use' key is not 'F' but 'E', which can be changed via console by

bind use kF

Also 'WSAD' combinatin can be changed into any other.

Cars, yes, there are driveable cars, they are entered by 'E' key, and engine is started with A LEFT MOUSE CLICK. Which can be changed into anything you wish.

bind turn_engine kB (or any else key)

If fulscreen does not work on some machines, the solution, via console is similar:

- rs_fullscreen

which may require game restart.

And finally there are some patches, which could activate DX9 renderer, higher quality textures, correct the sun movement, change the default all-the-same look for NPC's in different visuals (in build 1935 ALL the NPC's are military look-alike!), add some grass, and correcr... well... some game lockups and crashes:

Sorry for typo errors! And at the end, there is no english translation for build 1935, and most likely it will never be. But, who knows...
