| im pretty shure, that if i got shot, id wanna stick with a gun that gave me a smaller whole? yea both slugs would go through me but id be a lil bit happier if they did it with a glock and got a smaller whole then with a "hand cannon" and have a freakn baseball shaped whole in my chest something tells me that the smaller whole would deff be better on my part |

F***ING A! Let me give a little background so you don't think i'm a complete moron. I am (currently) enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, and am a Lance Corporal and am Military Police. That means that I carry the M9 side-arm (along with a rifle, and am trained to use the M1014 Joint Combat Shotgun (as well as the devil's piss (pepper spray (military concentration (stronger than what you can buy off the shelf)))) The military did not adopt the M9 (9mm Round) because of its f***ing stopping power, or any bulls**t that you are talking about... they adopted it because it is a NATO standard round. Look at Police Officers, they don't have to use "NATO Standard" round, and what do they use? 40SW. Why? BECAUSE IT LEAVES A BIG HOLE! 9mm doesn't have the ability to leave a bigger hole in a person, so if you don't hit in the minuscule (compared to the rest of the body) area where you are guaranteed a killing blow. Oh, and to spoil your wet dreams about the 5.56mm round, the Military uses FMJ round (Full Metal Jacket), this means that they go in one side, and leave the other in one clean piece. Its Hydrostatic Shock that makes it a 1/2 way decent round. Oh, and just for a little heads up, they were adopted because the bean-counters in washington figured that we could carry more ammo (lighter round compared to 7.62mm) for more death-dealing (well, we don't carry around guns for no reason at all )Oh, and back to the original forum starter.. the 50DE sucks because its a (heavy) b***h. -Peter ed: forgot this earlier... 15rd stack does not mean more killing, it just means that we have to reload 2x in order to bring down somebody on drugs (not enough bleeding out in order to kill) Last edited by nielson.peter; October 20th, 2007 at 04:11 PM.. |

| 5.56mm WILL fragment explosively regardless of its round type (M193, SS109 those 77gr bastards the USMC use) even in FMJ. a bullet going 2200fps suddenly coming to an abrupt halt and radical directional shift will see the jacket shatter into generally half a dozen pieces with the lead content of the bullet fragmenting into twice as much. At worse, the round will act like a tube of squeezed toothpaste, with the jacket flattened and bent and its lead content shattered like glass and ripped throughout the wound channel. Thats why in Iraq you see so many dead Muj with a single bullet hole followed by what looks like multiple pinholes or very light shrapnel effects.

| Serious question: Why are we bothering posting in here anymore? We've all prooved the creator of this thread is a retard with the IQ of a glass of water. Now we keep going off topic. I don't think any one else should bother posting. But meh. Case Closed - DE isn't too good in a combat zone cause of it's size/weight. UNless you're a 2ton beefcake. Gunpowder and size of the projectile makes a big difference. |

| Spicy Waffle, exactly what calibers of firearms have you fired? While shot placement is important, knockdown power is also important. While a 9mm is a good cartridge, an adversary could take one and still be on his feet firing back at you, as to where a cartridge like a 44 Magnum 240 Grain Semi-Jacketed hollow point would not only knock your adversary 10 feet backwards and put him on the ground, it would leave an exit would you could put a basketball through! Not to mention a 44 Magnum will go through just about anything and still have tremendous knockdown power. And a 44 Magnum has the range needed to reach out a lot further than a 9mm or a 45ACP. A Desert Eagle 44 Magnum is truly a sweet shooting weapon with range, accuracy, and incredible knockdown power, espically for someone who can use it effectively! Magnum Caliber |

| Why real life... aren't we all in front of a PC?! Switch off the PC, get some gun and go shooting. At a targeting practice yard, of course. Not at ANYTHING alive. amkmod1.4_amk_en_setup.7z AMK-EN _Patch_2.0.94_for_FINAL.exe |
