howdy! :beer:

soooo i was just outside, there was a scary countdown timer, and scary clouds, i got to the sarcophagus, and loaded the level...

...loading...

i popped down the hatch (aparantly) and now i don't know wtf to do. I roamed around while that guy kept saying something in Ukranian or Russian. I found a buncha people who don't like me and wanna kill me... so then, the radiation level (aparantly) goes up? and i can't handle it... i get the message that the radiation level is too high and i can't go anywhere, and everyone hates me and nobody likes me. WHAT DO I DO? where do i get a better suit in this situation? is this what i'm supposed to do?

oh oh, i found that ExoSuit down the ladder too, but that didn't help with the radiation either... sooo...

anyone? anyone? Bueller?

You should just follow the pipelines.. it leads you through some halls and eventually you end up in a "normal" building.
The first part is kinda hard because there is a sniper with a gauss rifle at the end of a hall (instakill). But you should be able to make it with an exoskeleton, I had no problems with radiation levels so you should be able to make it through.

well you need more ANTI RAD drugs and artifacts to start
and dont loiter, keep moving

The radiation is only harsh at the beginning of the plant. Take out the first gauss rifler, take out the guy in the next hallway (start to move quickly here), and toss a few grenades around the corner* that leads to the room with ladder that brings you to the exoskeleton (*there should be two Monolith at the corner, waiting for you).

Go down, get the medkits and exoskeleton, and climb back up. Use anti-radiation drugs or vodka here to lower your body radiation amount, and then make haste into the next room. This area is swarming with Monolith, but if you take out the enemies on your left, you can us that area for cover. Try to pull off as many headshots as possible here, and proceed further 'into' the room (it's long) - the high radiation amount ends here.

I had trouble with this a few days ago when I was playing through, but I eventually made it. Just make sure you quickly check the dead Monolith bodies for anti-radiation drugs and stuff.

You have to use antidotes and med packs every 1-2 minutes,
Tunder, Gauss Rifle or GP37 are your best choice of weapon

Make sure you have the Door Decoder before you go to the Sacophagus.

If you haven't got the Door Decoder, then you haven't talked to Guide and Doctor.
If you haven't talked to Guide and Doctor then you won't get the real ending.
If you're not gonna get the real ending then you might as well start all over again, UNLESS you saved a game before entering Chernobyl NPP, if so, go talk back to Cordon and talk to Guide.

The Scientist Medkits are the ones that fight rad (yellow), but if you have them in your inventory and hit your medkit hotkey it should default to them if you're taking rad damage.

if the scientific medkit combats radiation.... wat does the military(blue) medkit do?? as in special side effect or somthing

The main difference between the military med kits and the others is their use of coagulants (blood thickeners) to stop wounds from bleeding faster. I am not 100% sure if the military kits are used by default if you're bleeding when you hit your med kit hotkey, but I'm pretty sure they aren't. I do know the sci ones are though if you're taking rad damage.

Thus it's wise to determine by how much rad damage you've sustained (green, yellow, red damage indicator) whether to use an antirad kit or hit the med kit hotkey. It's really unecessary and wasteful to use a sci med kit if you're only at condition green. It can depend however on what artifacts you're wearing, but in most cases one would not wear artifacts that slow down rad healing while in rad spots.

BTW, every item in the game has a fairly detailed descritption if you just click on it while looking at your inventory menu or that of a trader. If there's a word in that description (like coagulant) you're not familiar with, just look it up on merrriam-webster.com or dictionary.com. Of course even if one does look up coagulant which leads to coagulate, they'd still have to know it's the blood that's being referred to for it's use, but that part is pretty much common sense.

Or... you can hit the hotkey for bandages, if you're bleeding. At least, that's what I do, if the medkits don't stop the bleeding (which they don't, because I use a realism mod).

i still think the 5 fireballs is the best rad remedy :) althou makes u walk more and stop more.... and if u dont mind not having other artefacts...

P.S. did anyone find the third level of artefact that comes from the fire anomaly? from wat i know... droplet = level 1 (1000 RUs) and fireball = level 2 (2500 RUs) third = ????? anyone who found it plz take a screenie and lemmi see XD

I didn't mention the bandage hotkey as the question was about differences between the military med kit kit vs others. Also, blood coagulants are used today in the real world. In the year 2012, when this game takes place, they would likely be even better at stopping bleeding. Again, this is a feature of only the blue military med kits.
