Well in this time of very little or i should say a bare-none release of content what-so-ever this little interview popped up on OL.com.....Its an interview with Vladimir Frey, the Music Composer of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
i hope you can disable music, i do in all my games, regardless of whether it is good or not
Why do you do that ? I find some games with very dramatic and embracing music. (Call of Duty (my fav.), Oblivion, F.E.A.R.) Plus usually the music changes to the situation your in... (if your in a fire fight the music starts pumping and gets much louder) It gets you really physced up and ready to kick-ass!
I like the realism... and music in ther background just ruins it..
When i am walking through a forest, i wanna hear if something is behind me, not pumping music...
and music kinda blanks out the louder sounds, so when something POOPS up... ill really hear it... itll go from quiet to BOOM LOUD SOUND instead of pumping music to another pump of sound..
eh... i always turn music off.. and if i cant i just go and make a recording of nothing and change the name to the music files in the main game folder and overright them... so when the game starts the music all i will hear is a 1 second blank recording..
Sometimes the music is good, but it has to be only for a few minutes, not during the WHOLE game. Half-Life 2 has a superb soundtrack, I absolutely love the music from that game - perfect mix of mild tunes and ambience, as well as some eerie stuff for some of the more spookier scenes (Ravenholm, tunnels, etc...).
speaking of music..... i prefer like there's no music, but when you're in action, music pumps in and you can feel your mood changing because of the music.
by the way, anybody knows the song name in the DirectX 9.1 trailer? I like the song very much!
