Default Balanced Weaponry Overhaul

evary gud mod out thar and the others not yet released features weapons wif exact real life values. whiel this sounds gud and all, and Iz for a moar believable ballistic system, it's just not the right wai to go about it simply cuz it's not only imbalanced in dat sum can opunrz easily acquired are moar powerful in real life than weapons finded later on dat are harder to acquire taking awai from the sense of progression. ALSO it takes the point out of upgrading wen evary weapon is super accurate and super damaging.

My brainz farts is this, and if thar's already a mod dat does this please let me know, cuz otherwise Iz going to try to accomplish this myself:

  • All weapons in der basic, non-upgraded state has moar believable stopping power (damage) and slightly less base dispersion.
  • weapons are earned (Bought or earned through quest) and acquired progressively, bettah weapons will be harder to acquire and become available later in the game depending on how gud thei are. (A gud weapon may be available midgame, whiel a great weapon may not become available till later on)
  • Upgrades will become slightly less effective due to base can opunrz bein bettah. In order to balance this economimeaowy, weapons demselves will cost moar whiel upgrades will cost less.
  • Weapon values will be relative to caliber and other factors. A 5.56 round weapon will nebber hit harder than a 7.62 or 9x39, but as a counter 5.56 round can opunrz will has less muzzle climb and dispersion added per shot.

wut I'd also like to do is get sum battle rifles into the game which will has a different feel than assault rifles bein moar powerful and accurate but harder to handle and lower rpm. I'd probably import dem from the arsenal mod or another source.

Now wut I need.. Since i can haz literally no experience, does anyone know of a tutorial for weapon values?

Sure, this one should be enough to teach you everything:
Basic Modding with Playable Examples

Well....you know somebody would say this, but do you really need to post like this?
I could just post my weapon files but I really dont want to make me the work to extract all the weapons you have and which not. Also I think it would be "bettah" if you do it yourself - you will see it takes some time but yeah....
Have fun ^^

I dig his combat rifle idea! I downloaded Gosuke's Nagant mod, and i never leave the Skadovsk or Yanov without it!
