I haven't seen a great many posts recently here or in the GSC forums. So is STALKER finally dead?? If so..........well it's been a good run but you bastards who forsaken the zone will get whats coming to you.

Stalker is dying, i think. Well it seems as though the community is. Take a look at the modding forum, i posted an idea and it would be good to have some feedback. After all thats what its there for right?

I think if the ending wouldn't of been so lame, like SoC, and wasn't so short, it would of lasted. On a good note: The game is SUPER AWESOME for modding. so as long as people make add-on(mods) people will play it.

I think there are probably two things which are to blame for this forum going quiet. One is the release of Fallout 3. There was a lot of hype for the game, and it seems that around the time of its release the forum just went dark. The other is the knowledge that the OL mod isn't being developed anymore. I know there are a lot of good mods available, but lets face it, at 6,351 replies and 447,342 views it's easily the most popular topic on the Stalker boards.

I don't think the game is dead. I still play it and enjoy it, but with the most popular mod on hold (and I say on hold because hopefully the 1935 build will bring Kany out of the woodwork) there's not much to talk about.

Most people who used to post here have moved on to other forums. Not CS so much, but SoC is very alive and kicking. And some of the best mods are never mentioned here, and rarely on GSC. I still check here once in a while, but mostly hang out elsewhere.

Clear Sky never got nearly the same attention from the community that ShoC did, mainly due to it being a lesser version of its predecessor in many ways. But yeah, ShoC modding continues with stuff like Lost Alpha (personally, I can't wait for it be released near the end of '09). But there's always a limit to just how much one can say or do regarding a game. It is potentially finite.

With the next STALKER game in the works, I imagine the whole community will come alive again soonish.
