Question Connection Interrupted HELP!!

I can't play anymore because I keep getting "Connection Interrupted" I have a cable connection and no other programs are running (that I know of). Here's some more info:
It does work sometimes early in the morning before 8 am (est)
I have enabled but checked and nothing being down or uploaded
Have Norton Antivirus enabled
What other programs could be running?

This is VERY frustrating because this is the best game ever. When I play it's like I can't even move. I can't leave a room. I can't throw a grenade. AAAaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

Also, when I first got this game it used to work fine --- for months. Now it's connection interrupted almost all the time, except eary mornings sometimes. I've uninstalled and re-installed to no good effect.

Anybody else have this problem? Anybody have a solution? Thanks VERY MUCH in advance.

Download a net monitor, I have one by ZDNet. See exactly where your bandwidth is going, then fix it

Check your bandwidth of your ISP service. I have a few sites I go to to check my bandwidth of my west coast cable service.
You can find many of these by doing a search "bandwidth meter" but here is a pretty good one:

http://webservices.cnet.com/bandwidth/

Good cable bandwidth should be 1500 or above. Our cable service has been crappy and I am running between 500 and 1000.

Next thing to check. Do you play in games with a LOT of players? I have played on some servers where it will run fine until a laggy dial-up player joins and it makes everyone lag out, until that player leaves or is kicked. This is pretty common on some servers.

Sort your games by PING and play on lower ping, typically under 200 ms, preferably as low as you can get.

If all else fails, reinstall RTCW and see if that fixed the problem. Often, mysterious problems will be solved by just reinstalling the game.

Just turn off if you aren't using it. It still sucks up some system resources just sitting there...

I get that, on 56k, and I cannot get rid of it.

I have started on a fresh system, NOTHING ELSE running.

I am at a loss for what to do here. I can play ANY other game just perfectly fine. But in RTCW multiplayer, I get NOTHING but connection interrupted, and lag like heck.

I get the "CI" too, often caused by a laggy player who joins the game. Usually the game will run normally again after the player leaves (or is kicked)

Note: If you think RTCW is potentially laggy, try playing Battlefield 1942. At this point I just have the demo, but it is really REALLY laggy most of the time. I am on a fence whether or not to get the game. IMHO, RTCW is better. BF1942 is neat because you can drive tanks, planes, etc, but when you are just a soldier, it is very hard to tell if you are hitting the other player, and I have noticed I can unload a clip on someone 10 feet away, and blammo.. one or two shots from them and I die.

Hunt around for good servers, ones that run smooth and add them to your favorites. Pick ones with the smallest ping, usually under 200 or 150.

Don't give up

That's the thing...

It does not matter what server I play on.

I doubt this is an internet issue.

Hi All,

Wolfumbra is correct, it will probably be . I had the same exact thing: nothing was down-or uploading and still I got connection interrupted...Just exit in your taskbar and I think the problem should be fixed. It worked for me

Yes, Yes, Yes, The problem is - why u might ask - BECAUSE IT CONTAINS SPYWARE - it'll suck your resources dry. Try Lite - NO SPYWARE!!! If you can't find it then you can E-mail me and I'll be happy to send it to you.
