Default Sever Command Overflow

I was woundering if anyone has a solution to this problem. I didn't have this problem until the 2.60b patch. The other players on the server tell me that this is the error I get. My game and computer locks down and I have to reboot the whole thing again. I have reinstalled ET RTCW and the 2.60b patch, and I still get the same error. Thanks

Have you install patch 2.60 prior patch 2.60b?

The error you get is just a message saying, that the server cannot connect to you, simply because your computer has crashed.

For a more detailed answer:
When a player connects to a server, a chunk of info is sent to them, called gamestate, and the max string info is part of it. The server looks for an 'echo' bounce back that confirms that the client has received that chunk of data. when it doesn't receive it, it resends it until it does receive the 'echo' back.
When the server cant finalize the info sent, and so continuously sends the data until it hits the string length problem, and so you receive the 'server command overflow' error.

I also suggest to update Punkbuster and to update your videocard drivers, which are most common to be the cause of lockups with the game.

To answer your question, I did download the 2.60 patch and then the 2.60b. I have played this game for about 4 or 5 years, and the last 2-3 years on the same server.(Christian gaming Network) I did not have any problems I don't think until the 2.60b patch was installed. (My Opion). I have updated punk buster, and when I updated my driver for the graphics card it made the graphics all out of wack. Such as when I move it like blurs behind me like it can't keep up. Thanks
