i maid a map with q3radiant but i can figure out.... i maid a map with q3radiant but i can figure out how to save it so i can play it HELP ^WMD^Cobra |
i mean GTK Radiant :lol::lol: |
Well Cobra, Is the problem that you really don't know how to "save" it, OR, that you don't understand how to "run" it in RTCW to see if it works there? First, if you have GTK set up properly, then build a map, and then hit File/Save, (OK so far?), does it save a "map" file in your RTCW\Main\maps directory called "yourmapname.map"? You need to work that out first. Next, did you "compile" the map using one of the selections in the BSP menu? If you DID, then do you now have not only your "map" file, but also a "bsp" file, (called "yourmapname.bsp"), in your RTCW\Main\maps directory? You need this file to get your map to work in RTCW. If you have generated the yourmapname.bsp file, then you can start RTCW and type the following in the console, (hit the ~ key to bring down the console). sv_pure 0 (enter) (also, that's a zero, not the letter O) map yourmapname (don't put the file extension on that, and enter). You didn't mention if your map was "single player" or "multiplayer" however, and that will make a difference as to how you start it in RTCW. I don't do single player maps, but it is similar to what I posted above. Your question is so general, and there are so many possible answers, It'll be lucky if this information is helpful to you. A bit of information on what you have tried so far, or error messages, or anything such as that, will give the really smart mappers that have the "good" answers a better shot at helping you. Heh heh. If you would check out some of the many tutorials on beginning map making as posted in the "sticky posts" in these forums, you can find all the answers you need. The Mapping and Skinning forum is the best place to look for these type of answers, especially the "sticky posts". I would strongly suggest also, that you ask mapping questions in that forum. Hey, good luck! TikkiT |
you need to compile it into .bsp and make it into a .pk3 also post in the mapping forum:D |
Help!!! That sv_pure 0 stuff doesn't work for me! Also, I have a pk3 maker, but what do you need in it to make the map work!?! |
