ummmmmmm....... I suppose we can just copy some technical stuff from what we read to help others, but if I was new I would not understand a bit of it...... what has happened is that you have a long ladder with rungs, or a fence or railroad tracks (most common things that cause this type of error) that is compossed of structural brushes (the brushes you build walls with) so, you have a BIG brush that has alot of smaller brushes touching it and the quake III engine has a limit on how many small brushes can sit on a big brush. So, by now you probley have a good idea where the problem is. not to make a mess of things, you can simply caulk clip the big brush into sections and the error will be fixed. you can get the caulk clip option by pressing the (P) and select clipper uses caulk and then clip the brush. game designers use alpha.shaders to get around this and to lower poly count. alpha shaders are those textures that you can see through like fences and girders or such. you can find some of course in the alpha textures in your GTKRadiant and must be put on one side of a nodraw texture to work..... fun mapping...... |
Thanks for the help. |
