Since Raven is developing the new Wolfenstein, I would like to see them integrate the G.H.O.U.L. or dismemberment system from their Soldier of Fortune series. If Wolfenstein had that, it would absolutely rock.

I'm sure some sort of dismemberment system will be present. ![]() I think it's a good thing that the release date is far off - the more time they have to polish and smooth-out the game, the better (in my opinion). But yes, Quake Wars will definitely hold us all over until then. That game looks brilliant.

I want Wolfenstein to be more like F.E.A.R. in terms of combat. The fighting needs to be intense and heavy. The weapons should sound and feel powerful. Enemies need to be smart, fast, ferocious, and most of all, fun to fight. Explosions need to cause the screen to shake. The environments you fight in need to look messy after gun battles. The game also needs to be a lot more gorier than RTCW was. Since Raven is developing this one, I hope they will be implementing a newer and more advanced G.H.O.U.L. system from there Soldier of Fortune series so this Wolfenstein can be a blood splatting good time. I also want there to be a limited amount of weapons to carry so that I won't have to cycle through a million weapons to get to the knife. I think 3 weapons is just right. The authentic WW2 weapons need to be historically accurate, but the high-tech super weapons like the Venom gun need to be devasting so that they will be fun to use. I also want the Devs to expand on the Super Soldiers. The problem with the Super Soldiers in RTCW is that they were basically walking gun turrents. Meaning they were not that fun to fight. I want there to be tons of Super Soldiers and I want them to be really fun to fight. As for zombies, there needs to be tons of them aswell. You should have to face off against zombies hordes. There needs to be a variety of zombies too. The flame thrower should be the ultimate weapon against them. I also want to be able to see my own legs in shadow like in F.E.A.R. It just makes the game feel much more immersive. Last edited by Deimos; February 4th, 2007 at 07:55 PM..

Those are some good ideas, John. One of the bigger things that have started to make a difference in the minds of First Person Shooter fans is the ability to see the character's legs. To be honest with you, I was somehow actually disappointed with the inability to see your own legs in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. More zombies, I agree, would be pretty cool. Implement some extensive haunting/paranormal stuff, and a level or two based on scaring the crap outta' the player.

I really like how in F.E.A.R. you could see your character using his hands to climb up latters and stuff like that. Wolfenstein should expand upon that. The player should be able to see BJ's hands manipulating objects and interacting with the environment. I don't know if they should do it for everything you have to interact with though. It would be kind of tedious if you had to lower your weapon and open doors all the time. But they could do it for little things that you may not encounter all the time like turning valve pumps and climbing ladders and things like that. It would basically just make the game feel more immersive and give the player a little extra eye candy. |

There should also be destructable environments like in Crysis. Vegetation, buildings, and vehicles should all be destructable. Hopefully, the devs will implement something like that along with their megatexture tech. Oh, and we need day and night time cycles aswell. This Wolfenstein needs to be all about variety and giving the player choices and different alternatives on how they to accomplish their missions. Megatexture should be used to the fullest extent.

Some of you might not agree with me, but I don't want to have very many allies fighting along side me. I like fighting alone. Allies are just annoying to me. Plus, Wolfenstein should have its own individual style. It needs to set itslef apart from other WW2 shooters. I don't want it to feel like Medal of Honor, or Call of Duty, or Brothers in Arms where you have tons of friendlies fighting with you. Wolfenstien should be different from those games by not having tons of allies fighting along side you. It would be ok if the devs have you fight along a few allies here and there throughout the game, but the majority of the game should be spent fighting alone.
