I'd like to share some things I do when I snipe

Hi, just wanted to share a few thing I do when I snipe. I notice I am more experienced than the average, or even expert.

1.) Having a zoomed out scope allows you to track and lead your target better.
2.) Leaning around cover with the scope on allows you to spot victims behind cover.
3.) Right before your victim passes the Line on the scope fire . The mauser has a good muzle velocity so it doesnt require that much lead.
4.) When shooting someone who dances generally follow him and then quickly line up a shot. Some prediction skills are good too.
5.) When aiming for head shoot before the head passes through the line. Because its a small area you could zoom in one level or what you need to effectively lead.
6.) The biggest thing ever - dont get nervous. This happens to me a lot and it makes me miss shots.

Anyone else have any Ideas? I'd like to read them, so that I could get better myself.

Oh what happened to wheats dday server? I loved snipeing on Axis side.

Not much use as a tactic but i find it a laugh when you run around with an unscoped sniper in the basement as axis on beach. This works really well if you run into large groups of allies as they all panic, and begin shooting at each other, and if you can get right in theyre faces or bhind them you can score 70 - 80 damage with one shot.

And if u dont get any frags, at least u will get a few LOL's

1. aim for the head
2. shoot
3. strafe when reloading
4. crouch
5. look at whole surroundings

another tip for all of u:
when u spot a large group, ALWAYS kill the medics first...:lol:
or, if the medic is hiding, kill another guy and wait for the medic to come out...

Sorry Korn, about Avatar? Anyways What servers do you guys play on?
My favorite of all time is S.Wheats Dday server. I play on other servers sometimes but I like Swheats, I hope he puts it back up!

I agree with Hendrock, killing the medics and engineers on Swheats dday server is essential. When I see a lt but there's a medic next to him I shoot him first. Then Engineers and then Lts.

hmm... dont understand all this talkin about avatars...
but just as supplement and if u dont know them:
my favorite snipin-maps are mp_tundra, mp_bridge and mp_theriver. im playin most of the time on 4netplayers mp_theriver -server.(due to my nice broadband connection and the speed of the server my ping is there most of the time under 50... low pings are very essential for a sniper that wants to hit fast movin targets, and not only lame campers...

dday is great, too. but i prefer snipin on allied side.

goin into closecombat with unscoped mauser is no good idea like PF-fighters (and i am a skilled with PF too) u schould bring some skills on pistol and grenades with u. there have been many players, that thought to easily kill this disturbin sniper in cc, just to be perforated by my pistol :lol:

I was playing sniper the other day and was running to a forward position and as I rounded a corner I ran strait into 2 axis coming the other way. They were in line, one directly behind the other and I literally ran right into the first one. The Mauser was out but not scoped of course and I fired. the first dropped immediatly and the next followed suit with the next shot. I didn't even break stride and got them both without them firing a shot. That was cool:
I desided that worked pretty good so I tried it a couple times more when faced with close enemies. I charged them and although the others were a bit tougher, it still worked. I managed to take them down with the first shot that hit. Most don't expect you to run right at them in those situations, so try it out if ya get the chance.

:lol: that sounds good - i`ve never tryed it, because of the inaccuracy that ive experienced while firin with unscoped mauser: do u have to stick it in theyre faces?:lol: perhaps ill give it a chance, but till now it seemed to me that u must be very lucky, and i dont rely to this.
