RTCW is GREAT, Other Recommended Games?
 

I am a true RTCW fan. It is such a good game, I not only bought the game, but bought a second copy of it. I have single handedly gotten a dozen other friends totally HOOKED on the game. Word of mouth is the best advertisement! The game is SO well made, and is a double bargain since both single and multiplayer are equally good. I hope the developers will continue on this success and release a PART TWO of the SINGLE PLAYER game. Wouldn't that be great? I'd buy a copy the moment it was released.

What other games do you own that you'd recommend for people who love RTCW? As you know, even with the reviews on games, buying a game is a total gamble. Most games I buy end up collecting dust on my shelf.

Second question: What games would you warn others from buying at all!?

I know it is difficult for any game to match RTCW. Have we all been spoiled?

Ultima Online: Best online RPG
UT2 (when it comes out) - Best flame thrower graphics ever.
Doom III - Come on! Amazing graphics.

Stay away from:

Black and white: so much hype, bought it, and well, sux

LOL, B&W damn that sucked, i gave it away.
Also, those damn Sims... i got so sick of them I removed the doors and windows and let them die.... muuhaahaaa

If you never tried Half-Life, try it!!!

got a few suggestions for games to avoid

max payne too cartoonish n boring
medal of honour too slow naff graphics n no blood
soldier of fortune ok ish just a bit predictable


my other favorite but is still along way off is deaux ex

I liked Max Payne, slow motion mode was great.

Little easy though, I beat the game in one day

I just got Soldier of Fortune 2, so far it is pretty cool. Medal of Honor was a bit slowish. Just seemed less intense than RTCW, slower moving, etc. I read about an upcoming add-on for RTCW, so that will help the game live on for a while. More single player would be nice.

There is plenty of single player, download maps. Plus there are tons of add ins, they are called mods. RTCW will live for a long time

Does anyone know a game like rtcw where there are drivable tanks jeeps ect. where like one person is the driver another on the gun another on the cannion ect? or is there al mod like that for this that i might of missed???!?!?

anouther great game is america's army or army ops. It is a great game that has wonderful graphics and is really realistic....you get enuf gun battles but u cant take 6 shots to teh head like rtcw :lol: also the map designs are great and its really fun. The map is a fps army sim and the army uses it...yep that commercial go army, its a game from that...you go into pipelines and train in towns...a bunch of lvls and some new patches coming out soon...agian really stunning graphics...also the game has a system where u beat a few training lvls in sp, like shooting targets and then u get awards and go to lvls online, again not like rtcw were u pick ur lvl, u complete lvls like a sp game but its like mp at the same time...its like you play 5 rounds of marketgarden and win then you will accomplish marketgarden, you can continue to play or u can go to next lvl on dif server...sorta like that...on other thing that is good is that the game is TOTALY FREE and ready for u to dl so go and get it here!

Graphics, decent (skins bring it down). Terrain, great.
Bunch of weapons, everything has a scope.
I've made it through the trainging, but it doesn't let me go any farther, any idea why?

You gotta finish MOUT training online. I'm not really sure how, but I did it and can play any maps now.

I gotta say that me my freinds and all our families lifes have been changed in a very scary and irreversible way after needing a heart bypass,not long after playing ............ALIEN v PREDATOR around 2am in the morning 4 the full loaded pants effect O .M. F. G....LOL,this game should bee banned LOL 4 sheer damage 2 the nervous system,v well done i think.Also UT 2000 graphicly and game play wise is shocking,and another good game is Jedi Outcast both off and online game play is evil athough there is a real code of honour with it on line,and thnkfully no teamkilling sad Fs,who i think r just probably kids anyway.....Remember though, u need a horror story graphic card to run all these evil but good games the more evil the card the more visits to the Shrink NYAAAAAAAHahahahahhhaha. :smokin: :D :smokin:

Well what ive herd is you beat MOUT then you have to go to pipeline and beat it and so on...also u cant have any ROE or Tk to complete the mission...im stuck on pipeline but it :rock:s.

What is ROE? I do have to change my opinion slightly on the game. I played multiplayer last night, it was fun (I kept getting promoted to SGT then smashed to PVT again). The only problem, and this is a great example for all those people who say the PZ is a good weapon, and this is war, you any available means, etc. When you die, you are dead. You have to sit there for several minutes, waiting for everyone else to die. So you don't commit suicide to complete an objective, you don't use a high powered weapon to take out one enemy and yourself. You camp. You find a corner somewhere, stay there, wait for a new guy to come by, and kill him. Because if you die, you are not comming back.

As far as TANKS, being in an environment where you can hop in and out of tanks, run around like RTCW, and even fly planes, the game you might look into is called ---Battlefield 1942. I think it is just in DEMO form at this time, but it is pretty fun. The demo is a "simulated" multiplayer environment where you must capture the flags to win. The tanks are neat to drive around in, but it sure limits your view of the battlefield. Looks like a good game if they ever get the bugs worked out and are able to release it though.

I am very eager for the Add on Pack for RTCW I must admit.

Hmmm, what can i say, i can´t compare RTCW to other games, is not the same!! :

i bought SoF 2 last month, it rockz, it has good graphics and stuff but i prefer RTCW

I also have Jedi knight 2, good graphics, nice story and everything but i still prefer RTCW

And finally Ghost Recon, not the same style but its another War/type game (game of the year) but i still cant feel the same thing while playing RTCW, i dunno why but u gotta love this game, just wait for the expansion pack, my friend, and you wont need to buy another game for a while

Give UT Tactical ops a go or the urban terror mod for quake3,any of the realism mods are pretty good,TFC,but not CS too many cheatin S.O.B`s had my fingers burnt too many times there

Op Flashpoint, Amercan Army (as ropey as it is) Odviosly MOHAA,GTA3 & of course Morrowind, bit buggy, and needs a monster to run good, Amazing Grafx (water effects:rock:) Good car game is Need 4 speed Porshe Challenge!!!!

4 now anyway wat next year brings, I think I can say Confidently WILL BE SAWEET :dance: :rock: :smokin:

Have also started playing Battlefield 1942 (the demo), it seems fairly stable and responsive on my system. I think they still have prob with the network code thought cause it occassionally kicks me out even on a low ping server. It won't replace RTCW, but I think that ET will bring RTCW closer to Battlefield 1942 in play style.

There's nothing more satisfying than a group of footsoldiers fighting a tank in a small vilage and finally popping yer nade right under it's tracks and watching it go up in a huge smoking fireball. I guess that's one thing about rtcw that really dissapointed me, having cars and trucks etc laying around the place and having panzer shots bounce of them, they really should go boom.

Other great games, for driving I have to agree with Bigass - Need 4 speed Porsche 2000 (wasn't porsche challenge the playstation ver?).

Neverwinter Nights for RPG'ing.

That's all I play at the moment.
