Hi Guys, I still have my commodore 64 and it still works!! I was the first on my block to have one and I used to run a bbs dial up so people could post messages and the like!! My parents hated that because of the phone bills!! I let my kids try out the commodore and they think the graphics stink!! But back then that was state of the art!! I was toying with selling it but I haven't made up my mind!! I might save it for my grandkids someday so they can see the nestalgia!!!:agreed: By the way I am a 34 yo that plays way too much!!!! |

mines hte oldest Compaq Portable - mine, onyl wiht 2 floppy drives (on mine drive A broke so we replaced ti with the drive B. It originally didnt have a hard drive) Compaq Portable Plus (missing the second floppy, replacing it with a 10MB HDD. Mines the original but its most similar to the Plus after various upgrades) Compaq Portable II - 80286 twin IDE 5.25" floppies and a 10MB HDD. Compaq Portable 286 -same as Portable 386 but with a 80286 Compaq Portable 386 -386DX20 gas plasma panasonic orange LCD screen, no expansion slots, has port at the back for an expansion box which can contain two ISA slots. Compaq Portable III -286/386 system with gas plasma LCD display. more or less the same as P286 and P386. Compaq Portable 486 -486 system which uses EISA slots like many of the Deskpro series. Has monochrome screen Compaq Portable 486/66 -As above with faster 486DX2-66 processor Compaq Portable 486/66c -Has color LCD The Plus and II look the same as mine, like a sewing machine. the II does have horizontal drives. The 286, 386, and III look kinda liek lunchboxes with the gas plasma LCD. The 486 models look similar to the original but thsead of the screen on the bottom its on the side. it opens liek a regular laptop does today, KBRD on bottom, LCD on side, drives to the side of LCD, and the guts behind LCD |
