Hey kid, seriously, this game is too mature in subject natter for you. But I'm not your parent, so what the hey. I'll say this. You got an early start. Maybe by the time you're 20 you will be competition for me and my buds. LMAO
41 yrs young, and a proud member for life in the Old Farts Quake Clan.
"Membership is easy: if you're over 35 and take every opportunity to insult teenage opponents and mock they're "superior" reflexes, you're an OLD FART in good standing."
Well, Robet's site is getting old and outdated, but I cut my teeth on it for gaming, and i will always return to it.
That's amazing. It looks like even from the start the PC industry was ripping us off big time. It says 2MB of memory but capable of 16. When I got my first PC (60mhz Pentium) it came with a lowly 8MB. I got an unsolicited phone call from a salesman wanting to sell me 8MB of RAM for the low price of $640! Wow! You mean just $640? What a deal! SHEEEEEEESH. What a freaking rip off. But that was the price of RAM back in the mid 90's... just 7 yrs ago. Now you can get 512 MB for about $90 or less.
Never buy hardware when it is a new thing. Wait a year. The rip-off price will drop by 40% just because it's not the newest thing anymore.
We heard the same lies from the music industry about the price of CD's..."When more plants have been built to produce music CD's the price of them will drop because the production cost will be lower. Consumers can expect to pay about $7-10 for CD's at that time."
That's almost a direct quote from an industry spokesman that I read back in the mid 80's. THEY LIED. Music CD's are STILL over $15. The price has not dropped 1 cent since the mid 80's. The cost for production is so low it doesn't even figure into the price. It's all profits and royalties. CD's are so cheap to produce, they come in cereal boxes with kiddie programs like cartoons and silly games. Sheesh. At least it is better in the PC industry in one way... stuff is cheaper now, but when it's the newest thing, the price is gouged.
