i would have to agree with korn....i have a 11 month old son. and i have a few years to wait before i have to really start worrying about this, and who know what kind of game we will have then....but anyway..i wouldn't let my 9 to 11 year old kid play rtcw....i can't say its a game for just adults because of there are alot of 15 to 17 year olds who play and understand its just a game and kinda know the history of ww2...i guess its just the fact that the whole game is basically about blowin other people apart..and its pretty gruesome at that...ok...my 2 cents are used up...i am 25 years old
Me here. I would say that 30's is probably the average age for gamers considering that many ppl I know play games who are that age yet never even think about getting into the online forums. It may be that the number of younger ppl in online forums is higher than average so we get a skewed idea of ages.
Games have been around longer than the online forums so many older ppl started playing games when they were kids and still play but don't use the forums, but kids just starting out are more adventurous and are more likely to hit the forums.
I'm 15. My parents don't allow me to have M rated games. They don't know RTCW is M rated
Seriously, I personally don't see the big deal. GTA, I can understand, but this is a computer game with a basis of WWII. The addition of blood doesn't make a difference.
Contrary to what the government says, I'm not gonna go shoot people because of this or any other game.
good man..uh..fro..mars...well you know who.. i completely agree with you...you seem like a smart guy. and i own a pretty good collection of games including gta 3 witch my kids would NEVER touch until they were 18.. but i own them...mmmmm... i am of age and mentally fit...for the most part (got the papers to prove it too)not from the doc....anyway in gta if you have played the game in at least a little detail you can find all kind of messed up things. from pickin up hookers and then ****in them, if you don't believe me im me and i will show you how, to taking drugs. that game, be it fun, SHOULD NEVER BE SOLD TO A MINOR. but thats only my opionon...and they are like bungholes...everyone has em..i got off track now...and i am spent...your right madmanfromars..rtcw isn't that bad, but its definately not a kids game..but kids will play it no matter what the parents say or do they will do what they want ....sorry for the eratic writing its really late...
Originally posted by KoRn_Warrior_ eh, i dont see why ppl would play a kill all ppl, holocaust, evil nazi mutant game when they are 5 or even 9. I think u need to learn the concept of the background of the game.....and raising a kid on bloody games definately doesnt have any pros to it.
I'v been playing games most of my life and look at how I turned out
I used to be in to WW2. I read books about it, and watched movies.
My uncle gets me all the games. He says they're ok and my parents let me play them. My uncle is so cool. Did you know I saw BraveHeart, the completely bloody r-rated movie, when I was 6?

Violence is not the answer. It's the question. The answer is "Yes"
this "influence" of games on children is something that should be taken really serious........i dont wanna sound like some boring ass but tests have proved that alot of children that go nuts with a gun actually shoot VERY accurate thx to games!........games are becoming so real that some real gaming adicts cant see the difference between a game and reality anymore (spooks me a lill bit) even in the millitary they use a modified version of "DOOM" (LOL) to train soldiers! so think what kind of effect a game can have on somebody under the age of 10 .......... and on some ocassions of high-school shootouts they found out that the kid was a gaming addict which also axplains his accuracy.......very spooky all if you ask me.....
