Join Date: January 19th, 2012 Status: Available Rep Power: 0 | Mouse issue at starting menue I dug out my copy of Quake 4 after building a new gaming rig. It installed great and loads correctly, but at the main menu the mouse cursor behaves strangely and it's preventing me from starting the game.
The cursor only appears momentarily along the edges of the screen, if I swipe my mouse quickly, and even then it's flickering while it moves. The moment I stop swiping my mouse, I can see the cursor return to the lower right corner by itself, kind of like when a joystick isn't zeroed out and it things "neutral" position is off to the left or right.
I'm running Windows 7 x64, with the newest Nvidia drivers for my graphics card (GeForce 8800 Ultra). I've tried in both Windowed and Full Screen mode, and I've looked around online & can't seem to find anyone with the same issue.
I really wish id software allowed keyboard navigation for the menus on Quake 4, but they didn't, only Escape key words to back out of a menu. I've tried quickly clicking on the menus while swiping my mouse, but the cursor moves back to the lower right too quickly to really click on what I want.
