Heard about this website on the radio coming home from work, the show hosts were interviewing this guy who came up with the site.

2010 California Marriage Protection Act | Safeguarding marriage from the evils of divorce

SECTION 1. Title. This act shall be known as the “2010 California Marriage Protection Act.”

SECTION 2. Section 7.6 is added to Article I of the California Constitution, to read:

No party to any marriage shall be restored to the state of an unmarried person during the lifetime of the other party unless the marriage is void or voidable, as set forth in Part 2 of Division 6 of the Family Code.
What say you? Should people be able to get divorced? What about the children? What if the parents suck and divorce is in the better interest of the welfare of the children?

Can a person be in favor of traditional marriage so much that they do not allow gay marriage, but allow divorce in straight couples?

Just because you can't get divorced won't mean that you can't live separately from each other, or that you can't have a partner outside of marriage. It just makes things inconvenient for the couples. It doesn't actually constitute a deal-breaker of any sort.

This would be like the same tricks the government can play with unemployment. Too many people unemployed? Lets just change the way we report the statistics.

Too many people divorcing? Lets just not let them.

Hell, if everything looks fine on the surface, there's no need to dig any deeper, right?

From personal experience divorces should be made to much easier and quicker to do, not the other way around.

I do think the link you posted was a troll site. I do have to give the guy credit if it is a troll site.

I'd think it would only make everyone's life worse, if there splitting its because its not working out, if you can't split the problem just gets worse. Anyway, I'd guess some people would just leave each other's living spaces and live with other wives instead, makes perfect sense.
