Well, 3 billion. Unless you're bi. In which case, lucky you, I guess.

Okay, and maybe a few hundred million if you're not a pedo either, but my point still stands.

Unless you're a bisexual pedo in a country that allows you to marry those, erm...types of people.

I'm imagining something more like the SS than Secret Service:
"Halt! You there, you did not come home last night to your wife. Is there a problem, perhaps?"
"It was a business trip, I swear!"
"Ach! What is this? A flyer from the ANGLICAN Church?"
"It's not mine, I swear! I was holding it for a friend!"

As for the "one true soul mate" thing:
Does anyone honestly believe this? That there are 7 billion people around and only one of them will make you happy, mesh well with your personality, and all that other good stuff? What if your soulmate died before you met them? Would you get a new soulmate, or be stuck horribly, horribly alone? What if your soulmate lost their mind? Would their body still possess their soul, or would their soul have gone out with their sanity?

This.

Also, what if you encounter more than one at a time? Do you get to be a polygamist? And what if you married someone you thought was your soulmate, but found someone later who gelled better with you? Do you get to divorce on those grounds?

You may, then, want to consider practicing how to word your opinions as opinions rather than as if they were facts.

I may? No, I NEED to, my sister says I do it so much I need to relearn how to speak .

But, I'm not saying there is only one person (by way of taking that as literally as possible). But, that you shouldn't be with more than one person when you say "Till death do us part." I don't think divorce should be illegal, but I do respect people who have gotten divorced a little less than a married person.

Do you respect a wife who stays married to her wifebeater husband more than a couple who gets divorced because their marriage isn't working out? Really?

Again, to reiterate what should be a fairly obvious point at this juncture, 'Till death do us part' is NOT legally binding. Marriage vows aren't legally binding, that's what the marriage contract is for.

Speaking from a purely legal standpoint, a marriage is a contract, mutually entered into by two parties. If both parties wish to mutually dissolve the contract, then why should the state say that they can't?
