Hmm. That would imply, then, that a large number of people took marijuana purely because it was against the law...? Or else they haven't had to resort to crime to pay for more if they become addicted, and they can get treatment for it a lot easier...

For the same reason people have to pay for tobacco and water?

From what I have heard you can grow ditch weed with next to no effort, but anything of higher quality takes some serious work to grow. Unless you are big smoker then it will cost more to grow your own than to buy it due to economics of scale.

You can grow your own tobacco, but only if you live in the right climate with the right soil conditions. I also heard that tobacco is very hard on soil nutrients.

I would imagine it has a lot to do with the sources of the drug too. For all the moralists and self-proclaimed doctors calling marijuana the worst substance in all of creation, the biggest problem of all is where it comes from when it is illegal, and who you end up supporting when you buy it.

Tobacco is a Regional plant, let alone the fact that it's not a easy crop to grow, the time and space for a ample amount of tabacco isn't worth the effort, let alone the time it takes to properly cure it, as where with weed, Four plants will have more then enough turn around time for a single person to smoke every day, and to cure weed? Stick it in the oven for 5 minutes at 177C.

As for water, People buy water for many reasons, but the most obvious one is, Its better then drinking recycled waste water that many places in the world use as normal Tap water.

Growing high quality hydroponics isn't that hard buddy, I know it from experience, as long as you know what your doing, making sure which plants are male and female, knowing what strand of seeds your planting when starting, it might not be the highest quality, but what you lack in quality you can make up for in quantity.

I agree with you. Never smoked pot, but I do agree with you here. Weed is illegal, and literally almost every drug out there that is legal is way more dangerous than marijuana. It's a fucking herb used for medicinal purposes, and those who are taking it medicinally use it solely as a relaxant. Cigarettes, Alcohol... those are at least twice as bad as pot and they're legal! This is just one of those things that makes no sense at all and it pisses me off.
